Description
Sorry for it's massive filesize. It looked like ass when compressed, so ... yes. Many apologies. This isn't really a tutorial, it's more of a how I go about things because some people seem interested SO WHY NOT.
This is by no means telling you how to do it. I don't think I'm worthy of bossing people around.
Banner's leg fucked with me the ENTIRE TIME. I almost gave him a pegleg out of spite. THAT'S RIGHT YOU HEARD ME BANNER. PEG LEG.
The Banner was drawn for the cast page of my upcoming website for Without Void.

Hey, cool.
There's nothing lazing about taking shortcuts in coloring in that program. Frankly, if you don't take shortcuts, you're a madman. I don't know enough of them.

I use a box for heads, too. If I use an oval or something, they end up with tiny faces & long necks.
You make it look easy.

Definitely going to try the pencil tool! I hate the time it takes to fill in around the edges when I do my flat colors.

This is completely unrelated to anything in the picture, but for some reason it compelled me to think the phrase 'wacky tobaccy' over and over. I don't know if I should blame you for this or what.

Haha, I can't use pen tool because my hand is too shaky on the mouse [carpal tunnel plz]. D: But honestly, I love the way you color. You should delve more into your coloring process if you think about doing another tutorial.
I never thought about silhouettes before, so thanks for mentioning it.
And I love Banner's pose, btw. :-D

Auh that pencil tool thing is GENIUS! I never even thought of that before!! Antialiasing indeed sucks! I hate it even more because I use mostly flat colors anyway, so why the hell do I have to spend time manually filling in areas of color? But now my problems are solved thanks to you!

You have to try Color Balance if you haven't already though. Adding a purple layer is good but Color Balance makes everything so easy!

Neat seeing the process. :3
I use all brushes. D8 But I might just give it a try...
I hate how you can't paint-bucket brush lines... but also, I'm sloppy, so I always leave like 20 million gaps. XD
I like how you use red an purple in the shading/coloring. It makes it look... unique? Spiffy?

Very nice. I may have to "borrow" your style for practice someday. That, and I'm sort of in between styles (again!), so it's a really good time to try new things.
And yeah, I need to pay more attention to my silhouettes.

Hmmm. This is very interesting. I had fiddled around with the pencil tool recently in a kind of "oekaki" type thing. But I hadn't thought of doing it really big then shrinking it down...
If you don't mind, I might have to give your technique a little test...

SO USEFUL. It's not full of all the photoshop jargon that usually trip me up in tutorials. And it looks like something I could really use. Awesome! By the way, I quite like the way you colour, it's very bright and bold and lovely.
I shall fave this so I can find it again and use it.
