Everyone knows a time when you feel like you would rather curl up and let the world escape you, and suddenly time has stopped for you but the rest of the world keeps going, keeps pushing. All those times when you had wished that curling up would give you an easy escape and it didn't.I have been wanting to draw a picture like this with Wade in it ever since I heard the song "man fading" by Kenna that maui ([link] ) sent me. Just now I got it somewhat the way I want it. I used Sharpie, a V7 roller ball, and india ink. I used PS to make the windows because I knew I would screw up badly with sharpie. I messed up my keyboard when I sprayed this with black ink. Now it looks like my keyboard has some sort of disease.

Awesome, superb detail... It's got a sort of noir feel to it. It's as if the world really is crashing down around you, like life has sunk and is crumbling in a massive earthquake ready to smother you... I love the way the background image is twisted to the character's perspective- it sucks the audience right in so you empathise with him. Excellent. Keep it up.

Oooh, this is yummy... but, you know, when stippling, a healthy layer of protective newspaper over everything is the way to go go go... I even wrap my cat, when I'm spraying... Sometimes I go outside and wrap children! Haha! before they know what's happening, they're wrapped in newspaper! haha!! I yell, Haha!! And then I scamper away away to find some more things to wrap, like crackers and cups.
Mmm, but I like this a lot, the two-toned super user is just great. The speckling gives it a whole lot of character. Which makes me tingly. You might say.

heheh i had a subscription for a while, but it went away and i didn't do anything with it. I was dumb and didn't think any of my art was worth buying. This particular picture will probably be part of the second issue of KtC so ... in a weird way it will be available for print I guess. Thank you! X3

i totally am in love, this is great... there are just two things:
the stripes on the road should get farther apart the closer they get, not closer together.
and although you think you will screw it up i think you should still try and do the windows freehand, because how they are now makes them look a little too hard and jagged, they don't flow upwards as nicely as they would freehanded. anyway, congrats on DTF it really deserved it!

this would have been perfect if you had tried the windows with a sharpie, damn computers and their damn undo function simplifying the art world, it's depressing

thank you! i can understand your depression, but i personally don't find the computer influence a bad thing at all. I mean the undo button is really no good unless you can actually do the job decently in the first place. You can correct your mistakes, but your true talent is still shown. Your mistakes still come out anyways. If i hadn't have used the computer and done the sharpie instead, I probably would've just ended up butchering the picture with loads of white out until mountains were formed. I think as long as people understand and recognize old style traditional along with the computers, nothing has truly been lost. But we all have our opinions. :3

I'd have to agree. Undo doesn't help you at all if you can't do it right in the first place. It makes jobs faster, but that's about it. It saves mess and money. I hardly find that a problem. Especially since artists are such poor people to begin with. ...harder οΏ½βbetter.

I know what it feels like. It's like closing your eyes and ears, shutting everything off and you hope when you open your eyes again it'll all be okay. Curling up is exactly what i get when i look at it. Love the medium, love the composition. You rock :]
