I've been actually itching to draw something that isn't a strip for a while, and I have to admit, this was incredibly fulfilling. I kind of tried some new stuff, and some things aren't great in here but it was fun to do.This is Mercutio Vondrasek (not the Shakespeare character, but obviously the name is from it!). He usually doesn't smoke giant cigars but it sort of fit the picture and everything, so there he is.
It was mostly a practice in his body language, and getting his face shape and hairstyle 'right' in my mind. I think it worked out okay. I can already see his massive layers being annoying to draw in the future though, especially panel to panel. BUT OH WELL. The comic will probably be a practice in 'let us see how fast Tessa gets tired of drawing his layers and therefore stripping him slowly'. I look forward to it too.
So yes. I would try to like talk more about him (cos I adore him) but words are not easy for me today.

Hahaa he really does wear a lot of layers xD.... but it makes for a really cool old-west-meets-well-dressed-casual outfit. I think his design is really neat/unique-without-being-outlandish.
Just out of curiosity, though.... I wonder... Do you still happen to remember the guy you sketched for me? (glasses+scars fellow that you were thinking of for this comic)
