Had great time designing this character - the Archer !It is for an upcoming game I have the pleasure to work on.
Designed/sculpted in zbrush, lowpoly in max, textures baked with the help of RTTassist and finally textured everything in Photoshop.
Can't wait to give this guy a bow and watch him run, jump and do some action in the game!

Very elegant design and a powerful silhouette. I'm still just getting my feet wet in 3D work. Do you prefer using RTTassist to something like Xnormal?

Hey Eric, thanks for your positive comments ! Now, RTTassist is not a standalone program , it is just a powerful set of scripts for 3dsmax that automates the render to texture process specific to 3dsmax. If you are using 3dsmax, I recommend it, once you learn how to use it it definetely boost up time consuming things. Side note, that if you are just starting out with 3d it is probably better to learn the default ways and practices for texture baking first, and once you know the drill to investigate ways to get faster.
I can't recommend enough the polycount forums and polycount wiki, learned so much from this awesome community, so I recommend it to anyone searching for insights for game art.

Whoo! Thanks for the fantastic feedback! I'll definitely give RTTassist a try on my next project, it'd be really nice to not have to switch between software so frequently. Also, thanks for the push toward polycount-- I've been lurking around there for too long, I'm going to join very soon!

The only thing I dont agree. To be more credible change the designe of the glove where he holds the bow, the line can stuck and harm the arm and add a brace to protect the arm, but is a detail.

What game is this going to be for? I loved stylized models and it looks like the game would be some kind of adventure or RPG of some sort. It looks like it could be fun!
