Description
Just sharing a little sketch of a space shuttle. It was done for a presentation/lecture at IFCC - Zagreb.
I was playing with moi3d for the basemesh - learning this great little nurbs modeler. Will definitely include it into my hard surface workflow.
Then I quickly overpainted it and figured out the rest in Photoshop.
Looks more like a mini submarine since that was my first intention, to have enormous water level in the mother ship in space, but after discussing this with the rest of the team, we thrown that idea at the end.
Project Yggdrasil is our fun collaboration with did together with Miroslav Petrov, Sabin Boykinov and Sergey Punchev. Miro did a ton of creatures for the project, Sabin explored some awesome environments and Sergey handled the UI designs.
Will share more stuff soon!

Very cool concept design. I love the mix of 3d and 2D in this. It shows your skill sets in both realms and it's looking clean and strong!

Hi! In this project we called the ultimate contingency and humanity's last hope - the UNS Yggdrasil, the World Ship.
The main idea is that it is like the Arc, carrying samples of Earth's remaining animal and plant species in search for adapting them on a new home planet.
In the ship, there is this huge botanical garden with enormous white tree inΒ the centerΒ - so there comes the name of the ship, yggdrasil.
There isn't any more Viking references, other then than one of the main characters is named "tore" (thor).

Interesting design.Β Any thoughts about propulsion system?Β Also, by the structure, it doesn't look like it could do any kind of prolonged atmospheric flight with a conventional propulsion system.Β I mean, scale might change that (not really sure exactly how big it is), but it looks like it would need continual down-thrust to stay in the air....Β I'd love to know how you're getting around these!Β It looks really cool!

I like it a lot. That brown stuff looks a bit superimposed though.

Thanks! Yes, agree, It is not integrated enough - it should work as some sort of isolation, but I didn't figured it out quite well
