there are many many diabloe-clones out there, good ones and bad ones, but diablo is the one and only true hack&slay
i love the small little eastereggs in Daiblo III. black mushroom, wirt's true leg, the little girl and so on ... only understandable by true players ^_^

well sacred was awesome ... sacred 2 was good too, but sadly it had a lot of bugs and was very unstable to play on ATI graphic cards ... meh <_< (BeeEffGee!!!)
and yeah, nearly all modern companies like Deep SIlver or EA are killing good franchises because they want to make money. C&C? killed. Stalker? killed. Sacred? Star Wars and Dragon Age? killed ... it's so sad
well i hope you know, that Torchlight I & II were made by the original Diablo team, after they left Blizzard. thats why Diablo III feels so different compared to the others.

I know that. They have achieve a pretty good work on Torchlight I & II, keeping a cartoon version of what Blizzard has made on Diablo 3. But I found Torchlight less addictive than D3, even if the game itself is far better than Diablo 3 as it keep the original game mechanics which makes Diablo I a great game.Β
And another good point for Torchlight is that the game can run on very poor PC or Mac, instead of Diablo 3 ^^

don't forget, that you dont need to be online to play Torchlight ... thats one thing most modern games do wrong i think, forcing the palyer to stay online the entire time. if teh internet is off, you can't play or do't have access to additional content like in dragon age. thats so annyoing <_<
i really miss the old times. you bought a game, could play all the day and if you want you could go online into a LOBBY of mutiple games, looked for the right one and started to play online... oh and ofcourse: singlepalyer was more then 4 hours of gametime and such.

Dice sold their soul to EA since they made a contract for Battlefield and more ... its a shame were the development of Battlefield was going and how less they are caring for the community. i was so shocked about the reveal of the original purpose of Battlefield 3 and 4 ....

Maybe, but you can't forget that by being buyed by EA the company can catch moe talented peoples in order to kickstart their production. Yes, they made too many Battlefield, but while they make that game, they enhance what thir engine can do. It's a good way to upgrade your employees's skills ^^"Β

one teh one hand, with a bg company in teh background, your little devolperteam will get more money and more people. ... on teh other hand, the big company is going to force them to produce, ignoring quality, only reafarding quantity... and thats how C&C was destroyed, thats the way of Battlefield and Dragonage ... not speaking about Mass Effect, Star Wars, Call of Duty and so on ....

I never played any BF or C&C, so I can't tellyou you're wrong, I will wait for BattleFront and see if it's a big shit, or not ^^ I hope not, I still play BF2 sometimes ( with plenty of mods, I hope that their version of Battlefront will welcome modding too
