EDIT: KOVU COLORS UPDATED.
The old one that I picked didn't see natural so I edited it.
Also I didn't had the original file so I slaped the new colors as a lazy bitch I am over it xD
Personal reference sheet for Kovu. YES YES, This is not Kovu TLK2 colors and I'm sorry about this.
But I really don't like the original, is so unnatural RED wine color that i just can't.
The only thing that I didn't changed was the eyes colors because this emerald green is really original and I can't see a Kovu without it. xD
These colors I get but photo editing Kovu side by side Simba to achieve a close color too TLK1 and this is what came from it.
Except the eyes that got SARAFINA EYES COLORS for some reason.
So and let as it is because I also hate Kovu with close color pattern too Scar. I know he still red wine but way lighter, seems more natural for me.
I think I'll try to do the same for every tlk2 main character.
Also I tell ya a thing.. Kiara was in the same photo that I edited and she got.. the exact same color too Sarafina.

About his scar. Part of it get healed, but he still have a marking on eyebrown. Did that because, so boring he has the same scar of Scar

I really like how you've drawn him here and the take on his scar! The way I see most people tweak it is they make it more accurate to the direction of zirs's hit, or remove it totally, they idea of it not going away 100% is pretty cool and does make him more unique!
As for the colors, a thing that can help you if you really wanna tweak the colors of the tlk2 cast, is that the whole movie apparently had a blue overlay filter applied on top of it, so Kovu's brown fur becomes wine red, Simba and Kiara's noses become magenta, Nala's eyes go from green to almost sky blue ecc.

thank you! YESS I noticed this too when I used purple sunset filter over a drawing that I put Simba and Kovu in and they got colors similar too the movie o3o
To get this color I lighten the screenshot and then I added a orange filter over it. Maybe I'll make is fur more orange-ish. I am testing colors right now ^^

That's how I do it for the most part too, yeah; orange filter to balance out the blue. I did this a lot with the hyenas, in the first movie they're shown to have brown fur in daylight, but then any other piece of official media shows them with the graveyard colors (example: Janja and Jasiri in TLG are almost puple, even in the harsh sunlight of the outlands)
