Private commissionslight issue with the white balance on my camera - makes white things tinged with yellow. Will be fixed for next time :3

They are supported with magic sculpt - air drying epoxy clay that is very strong and 14 gauge (i think) steel wire. They are very sturdy!

They're both so happy and very pretty together. It's so nice of Dash to help her learn some of the tricks of the trade, as I'm sure without the natural instincts it will take a while to get the hang of it. (Okay, Twilight probably read a bunch of books on aerodynamics, but unless you're in an advanced jetliner it has to be done by feel too.) Fantastic work hooking them up and balancing it. It's quite a feat and quite an awesome sculpture.

Maybe Twilight Sparkle needs to be more like a 727, with decent power and small plane-like response. (Perhaps too much though: sometimes pilots tried to feel their way when landing and dropped below stall speed. 
Oh, and I forgot to make a Frozen reference by comparing ... Okay, I don't want to spoil a fantastic scene for anyone, but those who saw it likely know what I mean. Oh, how badly I want to live-riff that movie with a few people...
