Shall I be the one with the criticism?
I think it would have been cool if in the color version the hull would be colored a glowing red-orange-yellow-white ... after all they made an entry into an atmosphere that seems to have oxygen (I saw the next page already ... 
Maybe it doesn't matter much ... I'm just one of those bores who likes to keep his Universe neat and organized. Physics and stuff. Not terribly important in the scheme of things, but still.

Thanks for the input, you're right and I put a lot of thought into it before I went this route. With the ship heating up to red hot on entry you'd get a lot of crazy flare too, and I wanted to keep it recognizable as the ship. So my justification is that the small reverse jets on the sides had just enough juice left to slow it down to non-death speed but have just conked out.
