Description
decoded for all my friends who play The Elder Scrolls...there are a few texts and signs in the game that have daedric script on them. If you are interested in decoding it, here is your key ^_^(mostly I made this so I could have a quick reference to decrode the Mysterium Xarxes as a part of the Oblivion main quest.)

i like how when you write english words in daedric that it looks like an english word from afar

I do too, like the M, N, and D look almost exactly like their english/tamriellic counterparts. It makes you wonder that if (lore wise) the mortal races based their alphabet off of Daedric.

I think that when you write Daedric that the words go down-up, right-left? I don't know O.o? One of my Elder Scroll nerdly friends told me that because he's so obssessed with Skyrim that he researched EVERY LITTLE DETAIL in the freakin game xD
(Sorry about seeming really annoying. Don't mean it. I just noticed because you spelled Daedric normally at the top.)

This above is just an alphabet, not a text. But still, I have no idea where did your friend heard that. All the words on banners in Morrowind were written in Daedric, and they are written from top to bottom, left to right.

Your friend might be right too, I know about Morrowind only, haven't played that much of Oblivion tbh so maybe he saw it there?
Anyway, no probs.

Hi, I was wondering if I could use some of the symbols in retexturing for oblivion? This is the best symbol collection I could find.

There are hints in the Battlespire game, another game in the elder scrolls series.

thats cool, althogh you know that there is no X or Y in morrowind or oblivion. they are blanks. the X and Y were created by a third party somewhere i believe. i never found the oblivion font file though, but morrowind for sure has no X or Y. i can write and read daedric fluently, alas, i have no life.

The two missing letters come from the Elder Scrolls game called Battlespire... I'm not sure why they were removed, but the symbols where used as Sigils to protect certain areas in the game... never really found it within any text though.

aye, you dont find the X and the Y anywhere because when using them, you leave them blank. so the word SEXY would be spelled SE and then two spaces.
so pyschology is spelled ps chology.
you gotta trust me on this, i knew they came from battlespire, as well as redguard i think.
i can read and write daedric fluently. i am super nerdy like that. so ya gotta trust me here. (i also do various other cryptology stuff, codes, ancient languages, etc)
but thanks for lookin out!

okidoki... just letting you know that they are still the intellectual property of Bethesda and not fan-made.
part of the reason Bethsoft removed the letters was to made Daedric a more original scripted language and to associate it with other romantic languages that took the same steps during their creation (spanish has 4 more letters and French has 1 less, but they are still romantic languages much like english, german, and italian)
Elder Scrolls strong attention to cultural details is one of the reason's I love the saga so much ^_^

aye, elder scrolls games are....on a level of their own. i played morrowind for easily 2000 hours. no joke, no exaggeration. probably more. i know like every secret of that game. and im working on oblivion. beat every guild thus so far. and all sorts of other accomplishments.
as for daedric being a romantic language...uhhh...maybe romantic has a different meaning this way...
ps- what system do you play them on?

I play them on my PC. I'm obsessed with anything that has the game's development kit packed with it (The console versions don't have the development kits).
I'm a game designer, so level design and game modding has become quite the vice

nice, i came quite proficient with morrowinds construction set for creating homes and the such, of course i always unbalanced the game when i tried to do items and weapons.
great games. although finding the .nif and .bsa files for oblivion has proven a bit interesting.
