- Laser Breath Weapon: Synister can produce a thin beam of lightning from his jaws that acts like a laser with a force that can cut through bone with enough time. (He is unable to master this for a long time)
- Strong Bite: Synister's jaws are extremely strong, the shape of his teeth allow him to last out and grip to opponents or prey.
- Fast flyer: His huge wings make him an excellent flyer, he is capable of flying higher than most dragons as he has adapted to the cold heights of mountains and is very fast in the air.

Dragonfish/Viperfish: bioluminescence and glow
Na'vi (Avatar): Bio fluorescent markings
Smaug (The Hobbit): Anatomy and movement
Verreaux's Eagle: Anatomy and Movement
Manta Ray: Colours and patterns (his design has drifted a lot from this however)
Wolf: his teeth
Crocodile: Third eyelid
Otachi (Pacific Rim): blood and mouth insides
Godzilla: The shape of his breath weapon
