which is around $749.99 with a lens(I have this, I love it )

Or Canon EOS XS : [link]
which is around $599.99 with a lens, it's a little older and less expensive than the XSi but may be harder to find...

You can probably find them for cheaper than the prices there, I got mine for around $50 less than that last year. As DSLRs go, those are actually pretty cheap, which is sad
