ARRRGH! O_onever again!
I hate working with tutorials althought I LOVE helping people, so NO I don't have any problems at all xD
Its story about "how Grypwolf does shading". enjoy..... if you can. ( and sorry about traumatic english I used there xD)
edit:
and I almost forgot! This shading style works in photoshops of all kind and with Paint Tool Sai. Don't know about paintshop pro or Paint thought....
I worked with this tutorial while drawing this picture:

You really make this easy for me, a beginner, to understand. Can I still use this "shading" technique on a human? Not making scaled or fur, but in general for clothing and stuff?

and now I just have to ask that why not?
YOU are to one who decides where you a going to use it.
there is no such thing like;
"you can't use this and that technique anywhere else but making this and those."

Wow this is so helpful! thank you ^^
You don't create any 'light' layers, right? only shading. (with 'soft light mode)? and you don't use the lasso tool at any time?

Vooron In reply to Rammthali [2013-06-09 13:35:16 +0000 UTC]
No I don't use lasso. but you can use if you want to. :'D
This is only tutorial. not "THIS IS HOW YOU MUST DO"
and I have light layers too.

Okay thanks and the light layers... are they cell shading or soft shading? (sorry for all the questions... I hope it's not a problem)
And your art is sooo amazing...

I have been looking everywhere for a decent tutorial on realistic-yet-artsy cell shading. I have to say that this has helped me so much! I look back at the only drawing in my Gallery now and shudder! Thank you so much.

For whatever reason, when i go to my shading layer, and I select it, I'll hit the select button up top, and the option to 'load selection' never highlights it just... stays darkened, and I can't click on it.

I have two questions..
1) Is the lineart pencil and scanned or is it digitally drawn?
2) how long did the shading take you?
This was really helpful BTW and I love the way you draw, it's so inspiring!!!!

Vooron In reply to CryingForTheStars [2012-08-06 15:42:51 +0000 UTC]
I draw usually using only computer. I don't often do sketches and lineart by hand.
