Heh, not too bad. But Flarion should be a bit more Reder than this.
I never tried Animating in Gimp, but couldn't it be possible to copy/paste the shading frames, and mod them to each frame?

I know xD But I didn't make it with Flash, I just used GIMP, and in every frame I had to redo the highlights and shadows 
And it's a bit fast indeed
