I'll be sure to post the pictures when they're finished, but it might be awhile because I'm also making xigbar's sharpshooters for a friend.

Well, your work definitely paid off! That doesn't sound too bad, I mean, they do look amazinnngg! What paints do you recommend? o:

acrylic paints. anything works really, i use expensive metallic/pearlesent paint cause it makes my keyblades change colors and sparkle in the light ^_^ hehe

Those are great keyblades, but I have to say... the first time I saw your tutorial, it frustrated me.
...all that looking for a good tutorial on youtube and it turns out the perfect one was right here on dA the whole time.
This procedure is really great! I'm using this method to do the Fresh Breeze keyblade, and so far (thanks to your tutorial) it's turning out great!

I'm a passive prop lover, (I just like objects) and I'm not even into keyblades etc but this is extremely impressive. Great job.

Im definitely considering using this tutorial because the keyblades just come out so beautifully. You did a wonderful job. although, now that Im looking at a ruler, I feel like even 3/4th inch would still leave it very thin in the carved parts. How sturdy is it?
š: 0 ā©: 1
vvmasterdrfan In reply to RokuXIII [2010-03-05 18:48:29 +0000 UTC]
yay! i hope you do get to try and make one!
its very sturdy. however, i dont recommend hitting people or things with it, because no matter how thick the wood, it can chip

Obviously, you could make a side living out of this. Perhaps only for close friends or very rich (and die-hard) fans? The time and thought definitely shows and I very appreciate all the planning and details put in. The finished effects can be polished but these are good works as art.
*These blades are totally wicked*

KuroNeko-Pro In reply to ??? [2010-03-01 00:01:47 +0000 UTC]
I agree. I'm sure you could make a lot of money making these for cosplayers and selling them at conventions. But It must take a lot of work. I think a lot of cosplayers would want to make their own too. So this tutorial is the next best thing.
Thank you so much for it! ^^

you are most welcome! ^_^ yea i could get a lot of money, but i would have to charge a high high price for me to get any kind of profit because they are so time consuming to make..
so to make it easier on everyone, i made a tutorial! ^_^

hehe yea i could! ^_^ but they would have to be sold expensively cause of the amount of work and the time it takes to make them :/

....this is probably the most stupid question you'll get...im not firing on all cylinders today >.<
But when you trace it fron the computer.....how do you make it bigger....as in scale wise, do u just like thriple all the measurment?
sorry this question is so full of fail...^¬^;
š: 0 ā©: 1
vvmasterdrfan In reply to Brittlander [2010-03-01 06:03:34 +0000 UTC]
haha its alright ^_^ well usually when you save an image you can open it on your computer and look at it right? when you open the keyblade image you saved, you can zoom in on the image. to make it bigger.. now the image you saved is probably small, and when you zoom in, it will be all pixialted and blury, but thats ok. you need to zzom in big enough to where the keyblade appears life size (as if its just the right size for you to reach into your screen and grab it right out!)=]
if this doesnt help, i can do a screen shot of what it looks like =]
