this so reminds me of this [link] I had exactly the same sentiment and pretty much the same metaphor. I think the large diagonal line descending away into the distance (usually toward the center of the image) says something about paths and the unknown. Not to take away from this, but it's a prominent shape that I've noticed in like 30% of the pictures in my own gallery.

oh absolutely! Just five hours of looking at the silly thing does give one a bit of tunnel vision.
