Description
This comic is loosly based off an AIM convo i had with Kat while i was doing some astronomy homework. Now for the explanation:Don't know what a mnemonic device is? Neither does Aelita, thats the joke. Basically, a mnemonic device is a sentence or phrase in which the first letters of each word help you memorize an acronym, steps of a process, or something else you need to remember in a certain order. In this case, Jeremy is specifically referring to OBAFGKM, the 7 spectral types of stars, with O stars being the hottest and brightest, and M stars being coolest and dimmest (the sun itself is a G star)
Now that you know, have some fun with mnemonics, remember the order of the nine planets with "My Very Excellent Mother Just Served Us Nine Pizzas" or how to classifiy species with "Kindly Penguins Cook On Frogs Green Skin" (i made that one up myself, it helps me remember Kingdom, Phylum, Class, Order, Family, Genus, Species) or ROYGBIV (pronounced Roy-Gee-Biv) to remember the seven colors of the rainbow. Can you come up with your own useful mnemonics?

I remember making a parody cover for the first ten elements of the Periodic Table with two songs (Gretchen Wilson's "Redneck Woman" (the first part of the first verse) for remembering the symbols; Jason Aldean's "Johnny Cash" (the chorus) for the full names).
But in all seriousness, this is so funny.

Ah. ^.^
The species one, I learned it as 'King Philip's class ordered fuzzy green slippers.' (With the added bonus of having class and order actually in the phrase.)
Also, for converting the metric system, is 'King Henry's drunken uncle drinks chocolate milk.' (Kilo, Hecto, Deka, unit, deci, centi, milli. The 'unit' can be meters, liters, grams, depending on what you're working with,

pneumatics are systems that use compressed air to do work, I don't think there is such a word as pneumonic, at least my browser is telling me its misspelled when I write it.

Heheheh, quite a clever comic here. I like the innocence of known knowing mnemonics and the benefits that can come with it...well, so long as the device itself is a good one.
^_^
Very well done. Thank you for sharing this with us all.

when pluto was declared a non-planet, and before it was redeclared a planet, i used "my very exotic mother just stipped us naked" or "my very enthusiastic mime just said nothing"...but now pluto is a planet again so those dont really work >.<...but i thought they were kinda funny...
