What can I say? Sometimes you just get asked to draw a two headed dinosaur with a cybernetic eye and drill on its right arm.This is the cover for the online Warhammer 40,000 magazine here:

We both based our art off pictures of the miniatures being used in the battle report. The art for this cover was done in pencil and then colored in photoshop. Hope you like.

Publisher 1 - "You know, I was thinking about a color front page showing a bunch of Imperial Fists fighting against a dinosaur ridden by a Commissair, but I don't know, it's not 40k awesome yet ... "

Nice Vindicator tank. I like how your coloring on these seems inspired by 1980's cartoons ala G.I. Joe (don't get me wrong...your coloring's WAY better...it just feels like the style is similar).

The colouring for this image is rather flat, but the concept more than makes up for that. It's a breath of fresh air - when so many battle scenes in Warhammer 40,000 are bitter, fraught duels or else entire armies clashing in cacophonous calamity, having something with a relaxed, classically action-adventure vibe such as this is a great source of relief and variety. I did say that the colouring was flat earlier, but on reflection this actually benefits the picture: the 'cartoony' cel-shading reinforcing its playful nature.
Altogether, wholly successful.
