Description
A strange misty shadowing of the tree-line on Flat Lake near Armstrong, Ontario as the sun came up last month. It gave the sunrise an odd almost three dimensional appearance.

I like the mist. Even though it's suttle it would lose so much character without it.

These are the kind of mornings that I hunt for! Too bad I'm a bit lazy, waking up before sunrise isn't always possible in practice x) Though in winter it's a little easier since the sun gets up so late as well...
But yes, very well captured!

WOW you always seem to catch the most amazing moments in nature's time! IS it that you are able to catch these out of luck or you make the world see what is always there? I believe the latter of the two fits best! Another great shot!

Fire on the Mountainside by the Tea Party comes to mind... that's an odd comment for me.
The shadows in the trees do really add depth to the light. It's a great study on light and dark .

thanks ... every day for three weeks I'd drive this 120km stretch of dirt logging road on the way to work as the sun came up... so I'd seen a rise or two from the road already ... but something about the misty shadow there made me do a double ... no triple... take. Then despite two other guys in the truck I locked up the brakes and grabbed the camera
