Cool concept and I love the 'keys' in his back. Awesome wings too. <3 I think the two purples clash a bit and I feel like the character should be pushed to the left a bit so he's centered better.

Oh my gosh!! I would go insane drawing all that detail!! *dies* Love the pose, and the monochromatic color scheme of a beautiful purple hue. THe pose is very cool, and the colors really help to accentuate the mood in this picture. The wings rock!! Very nice picture!!

Okay.... Hmm. Still... How do you get your vibrant shifts of color? It's like great lighting and I really like it but I have no clue. Do you lower the opasity or Fill of a layer to accomplish that?

the background ornament makes him look even more chained. its intricate design is beautiful, it closes in on him and the white parts holds it together, making it bear in on him even more. the lighting picks up that white, and its direction has a high emotive effect for this piece. brilliant.
is that an axe/spear-like weapon that he is chained to?

that makes me wonder, though: he doesn't need a weapon to defend the gate, key and himself?, or is he just the... key-demon? (or maybe nobody would ever want to get to what it is he is guarding?)
