Description From the Star Army Roleplaying Community - star.army

This is an illustration of Shosho Ketsurui Hanako (Shosho is a Vice Admiral rank) wearing the updated version of the Type 35 uniform. The updates include new instructions for wear of awards and insignia, bringing back the classic rank badge pin and providing for foreign awards, as well as giving command staff an option for a white-topped version of the Type 36 Officer cap.

I absolutely ate up those uniform regulations on the wiki. The uniforms look smart and appealing. Am I right to think Star Army is like Star Trek, but not farcically incompetent and inconsistent?Β

None the less I'm a bit dubious of skirts on spaceships, for obvious reasons. Also are there any provisions for safety equipment to be worn on the uniform in case of sudden emergencies?Β

I wish you could "like" comments on Deviantart.

Star Army is its own thing that has a lot of familiar tropes and themes from other space operas and all the major franchises like ST, SW, BSG, but is not based on any particular one. For an RPG with catgirls we take things surprisingly seriously and aim for a high level of quality and internal consistency.

Skirts: They are an optional and favored replacement for trousers. Star Army ships have reliable artificial gravity. Additionally the skirts are worn with waist-high opaque tights. In combat situations the crew either wear spacesuits or keep them in arms reach depending on readiness conditions.

If you have more questions I am happy to answer them.

Internal consistencyΒ β‰₯Β Realistic

Tell me about the technology. What can ships do, what do they look like? Oddly specific question, but is there some sort of 'limiting factor' - heat dissipation? Energy needs? Provisions? etc?Β

Ask and you will recieve: stararmy.com/wiki/doku.php?id=…

I would say there is no single overriding limiting factor but there are a lot of smaller factors to juggle from food to crew sanity, as with any ship or small community.

Hm. There's an idea I cribbed off of an obscure, but enjoyable, book called The Risen Empire I've been wanting to implement for some time.Β

How capable are gravity technologies? Would a ship be able to have components floated into place and held there?Β

Something likeΒ this .Β

I think that it would be possible, although I don't think I know of any examples in my setting. Often it just makes more sense to keep things simple!

Classy uniform - feminine without it being kinky or descending into the sleaze bucket!!

These are excellent images, very well done - not too keen on the berets, but hey, its a uniform

Very well designed

It's actually not a beret, it's a sailor cap.

Thank you! I'm glad you like the new art.

Thank you! I'm glad you like it! Did you see the wiki page with the details on the uniform?

Yes, those are some very thorough regulations. What I like most about them is the cut of the uniforms themselves, very space age, and the simplicity yet effectiveness of the ranks.
