Woot! Finished, and earlier than I thought!!

3 characters were created from the entries. One for me, Kuna. One for my husband, Ronnel. And one just because the utter fabulousness of the design could not be ignored. I'm going to take the last design and instead of a wolf, he will be a male lion. Named Mirage, and always design credited to deathx13xdealer. I didn't have time to draw him.

Also, I'll be putting up shaded and pretty drawings of these guys soon -- these are just flat color areas. Kuna especially will be much more faded, with less distinct markings, as she's intended to be more naturally wolfy.

Kuna's colors didn't come from any of the entries, and many of her design elements came from actual wolves, and discussions on wolf markings by J.C. Amberlyn in her book d_bbs_ur_1/104-3830807-6613522?v=glance&s=books&n=507846"Drawing Wildlife which I highly recommend.

But both Kuna and Ronnel used multiple entries in their design.

I just couldn’t get over how much I loved this character design. Even though I didn’t get to use it, I was still horribly tempted to make a character just so I could. =] The pink border collie was just too perfect. I may draw her once, just because, but if =LunaDog23 wants to make a character from her, I do not claim rights to it.

The design was too complex for me to actually use, but I absolutely adored the extra long floofy and curly leg fur, as well as the colors used and the swirly buttwing. =] And I love the tail. So this is another Honorable Mention, because even though I couldn’t use the design, I was still sorely tempted. *Andoledius retains rights to the character as I did not use it.

Lakota Silver is another Honorable Mention because she actually went so far as to learn about my obsession with gypsy horses and create a character based on that. For her dedication and squeefully delightful character design, she wins anyway, and she retains rights to the character since I didn’t use the design.
