May I ask? What's up with all of these furries? Why are people so obsessed with them? And why are you drawing them? What's the point? Is it just a rage? Or is there some advantage in drawing furries?
I can't seem to fight one "scroll down" on the undiscovered section without seeing a furry.
So I thought I'd ask. I'd like to finally know the secret.

People draws what they like. In my case, I've been drawing anthropomorphic characters for years and I always find them so much fun to draw, specially colorful creatures since it's the appealing and the aesthetic that attracts me the most when drawing and coloring.
I don't mind drawing human characters. I'm just not good at them. Specially painting the skin, I find that very difficult to achieve atm.
Honestly I'm not very aware about DA's dashboard. I haven't checkered in a while, but the anthro category has been there for years as far as I know. I'm assuming the MLP section is even more popular right now.
Well, wathever the case, is just drawings and since they're not real, it shouldn't be taken seriously. If you don't like it. I'd recommend to ignore them. I don't have any answers as far as the community goes, since I can't speak for the whole community (people's cases are different).

A lot of artists find humans too 'mundane' or that human-characters are too common and that you see them every day, but anthropomorphic characters have a lot more variation to them and in a lot of cases, you have to use your imagination with them, so they can often give a bit more freedom to the artist.
But each artist is different and this may or may not be the case for whitephox, though this is the reason for a lot of artists that I know.
