*sigh* As much as I dislike Twilight (which is a lot), the way the vampires worked was the least of its problems (the human lead is far more deserving of everyone's ire for one thing, as is the fact that due to the author's beliefs a fraction of all proceeds from the books goes towards a charity aimed at "curing" homosexuality but hey).Β Also, did you know that vampires being killed by sunlight was never part of the original vampire myths but was actually invented by German expressionist theater?Β Not kidding, the first time a vampire was ever killed by sunlight was in Nosferatu.Β Dracula walked about in broad daylight in his novel, after all. XD
I mean the sparkling thing is still pretty dumb but you'd think people would've gotten over it by now, or at least stopped perpetuating it by mentioning it anytime the prospect of vampires comes up.
I dunno, I'll admit I'm kind of being a bit snippy here but it's just kind of... A bit annoying to see it always pop up, really.Β Better to focus on actually decent vampire-related media than keep parroting the same stuff about Twilight is how I see it, honestly.

In truth Darcula was more powerful than a regular vampire from my point of view but on that note I'd say the anime Hellsing Ultimate is an example of how vampires are meant to be there that or an over exaggeration.
