FULLSCREEN! (you can see the details better that way)i find the concept of puppets and puppeteers really intriguing. and i don't mean those silly puppet shows for little kids (which are still awesome, but in a different way). i wanted to draw something that showed how easily we can be manipulated by the man pulling the strings, how we can be misled and brainwashed into doing something through the mere use of manipulation. want examples? take adolf hitler. or if you want a current one, take the media.

Actually, no. I did base myself on -or "copied", as you put it- Altair4444's drawing. But why, you ask, even attempt doing so? Well, why do you think people replicate anything? Even toddlers imitate their elders. In this case, a crappy artist wished to have a go at drawing as good as Altair4444. For example, when you copy famous paintings, you don't have to worry about the colors, balance, or proportion; it's already been done for you. The only thing you have to worry about is NOT MESSING IT UP. I tried my best, but of course my own drawing is not as good as the original. I don't claim it is, just as I don't claim it's mine (there's a link to the artist in the description). Anyway, my point here is, sometimes replicating someone else's work can help you on the path to become a better artist. So there you have it. I hope my rant satisfies your inquiries.

I love the shading to this, it really gives it the details it requires under dark lighting, even if you do not draw any inside to begin with. I also love the details for the puppet. The wood looks realistic, and the joints are in the right place, giving it that lively concept necessary to a work of this sort. The example you give in the authors comment is also very true, it can be easy to be manipulated or be a manipulator. It all depends on who is pulling the strings on who
