Description
Following a request on an old post, I went back to the first ship I ever tried to model an re-rendered some close-up/detail shots of it. I completely forgot what a monstrosity this thing was, even unfinished, or that most of it was complete. I'd love to revisit the design in the future, Since I still really like the silhouette, major shapes, and general layout of the structures. The hull is pretty bad since the whole thing was modeled before I really knew what to look for in a good hullform and also everything was modeled in a program completely unsuited for something of this nature (Solidworks)I have no idea what sort of weapons I put on it. It is loosely based on... Everything. There are components and design choices visible here which are traceable to just about every navy I was familiar with at the time.
The original idea for the ship was something of a secondary imperial Capitol, hence the size of the ship. There were three ships in class, each of which constituted a third of the nations capitol. They were meant to be mobile fortresses rather than frontline defense. or something like that, I don't remember all the ideas I had for them
