But the twins parents are never shown again pluse they look nothing like the twins. It is a huge possibility that those two could just be filling in because of an incident that happened to the twins real parents

don't despair! 5d is roughly 2800 - 3700 years from present time. (How the fuck are you alive Ushio????????) Because of in-show, canon statements. We know this because, according to Goodwin, the Nazca lines were created 5000 earlier from the time of the story, and the Nazca lines were created between 200 BCE and 700 CE which makes them only 1300 to 2200 years old in GX series. (since we know that is near present due to Yūgi being alive and kickin' still)
Thus!! in their previous lives the twins were born to Johan and Jūdai. And now in the future they have sucky parents that leave them on top of buildings alone (never forgives!!) So reincarnated Jūdai and Johan (or time traveling canonish Jūdai) can um adopt or steal or something.

Slimple way of explaining those two people away. They were family friends. Alexis is the blond haired girl and the dude can be Syrus or Alexis's husband. The reason they were there was because this all happened while Judai and Johan were away and unable to get home. Alexis's and the guy were called by Judai and Johan and were asked to watch over them while they were unable to get back home.
