Hes beautiful here! Has the long body like a collie, and his face/head is GORGEOUS in this shot, lookie the shepherd forhead wrinklies! And I love how his tan markings gradually lighten as they etch their way down his legs and chest.
From what I can see, Shadowraine, this dog is mostly collie, since ive been around so many in my life. But yep, definately some perdy shepherd there as well. The only real shepherd features I see are the tail, the ears, forhead and some color here and there, otherwise, ide say collie as dominant traits, perhaps even smooth collie.
I would absolutely love to see a good side shot of him, so I could tell more about his stance and self perdyness. :3

Oh, dog identification doesn't bother me in the slightest! I love it actually. I've been trying to get a good side shot of him, but the booger-head moves too damn fast! *shakes fist at Strife playfully*
One of his most endearing traits, one I really wish I could let you see, is that he has two different and distinct barks. When he is happy and friendly, he makes the characteristic "yelp" noise that collies make...but when he is protective or mad, he makes a throaty shepard bark. It's weird. Oh...but my husky back home taught him how to howl last time Janus and I visited Georgia...so now he howls like a weird wolf/collie. He's an odd dog altogether.

and wahh, ide LOVE to see more of him some day. ^^ and if you want a good side shot of him, you hold his collar, keeping him still, and have Janus take the picture, neh? ^^ Thats what I had to do with mine when they were younger. 
And oh yes, often mongrels will have different barks like that, though my collies do have deep, bellowing barks, though their short and not drawn out like the shepherd or Rottys.
and the howling is awesome! I would love to hear him howl.

He thinks he's a wolf. When I took him home to Georgia for a visit last time, my husky taught him how to howl...so now Strife howls like a wolf instead of barking all the time. Freaks the neighborhood kids out royally...I love it!
