Seeing as this is a commission, I can definitely see that you had many yearbook pictures on your plate to deal with! (I first thought I read "CIST" instead of "CLST" whoops).
Either way, well done! I really like your style and execution-- it has always had an "adorable/cute" aspect to it and is impressively minimalist on the colors!
Did I mention how smooth the outlines were and how well the colors merge in the shading?! my outlines stick out like a sore thumb if I don't manually color them gah
pfft, this is why I wished you could draw Noelle with this style you mastered! but hey, this just means you have other portraits in store! Can't wait to see them, whether it's on dA or in the yearbook

Thank you very much ;w;
I really like the outcome of this one too, I tried some new coloring method for the lineart and shading. My lineart is freakishly clean, too clean for my own good.
I'd definitely try and draw every single OCs of mine, including Noelle, but I still have another batch of yearbook commission like this one, and the deadline is kicking in, so I'm not very sure >.<

You were experimenting!?
Well, it looks very smooth, so congrats
lol "freakishly clean," I used to hate outlining because of how precise it had to be--and that it takes a long time to do.
;-; may I ask how you are able to create such smooth lines?
Right now I think my biggest limitation is canvas size, but it could be a brush issue or maybe the color??? (I think that other people are using massive canvases then shrink the final product-- I can't do that but I know that method makes the lines less pixelated.) Then again, it could be a specific layer effect that I don't have on my program .-.
(oh, no worries, I already have that backup photo! Worry about that timeline and that other batch! O.o
worse-case scenario, it's your own deadline, so you can extend it XD )

Yeah, I found some old brush I used back in 2014 and gave them a try ;w;
I love lining, I just hate sketching and shading LOL. I'm not sure if the program you use have this option, but I use stabilizer in Paint Tool SAI for the smoothness, and it works really well for people with shaky hand like me. I rarely draw in really large canvas and shrink it, because my laptop would hate me and tries to kick me out ;m;
heheh I've had some people requesting for deadline extension, and I'll probably do that if there's not enough entries when it reaches the current deadline.

Ohh yeah, streamlining! I recently got that in an update so maybe I should put it to use...
I think I can agree with you on sketching OTL having an idea is one thing but in the process there's a ton of compromises to be made since poses aren't the easiest things in the world :/
Woah, deadline extensions were requested?! I was planning on maybe asking for one for the second artbook, but I won't pester you about that til the raw dates come out.
...how many submissions/pages have you collected? It sounds like there aren't that much, which would really suck ;-;
Well, if we have an extension and I have extra time, I was wondering if you think we should modify Noelle and Aorta's yearbook pictures since I noticed they don't really show themselves being years apart from their current designs (it's really my fault OTL I loved their designs too much to even consider the timeskip involved, gah).
Or we could just say they....moisturize a lot and still look the same XD (Noelle for sure looks to be type of person to be young in appearance for a long time).

Yeah, sketching and composition can be a pain, sometimes the time I spend for sketching is more than the time I spend to finish the artwork OTL
And some people on tumblr requested it because they didn't see the project until now, and I want everyone to have a chance so chances are, I might extend it.
You can modify the yearbook pictures (or make new one) if you want. Though I think team ARTE's photo can be taken during their time in Atlas, which is why they look young in it (Except Noelle cus she can look young even though she's in her mid 20s //shot)

Ah, then yeah, I suppose an extension is in order :/ though I really wish to see the yearbook before I have to dig myself into a college textbook.
Yes! Noelle is definitely going to still look like a teen/young, I plan on representing that in the group pic! She shall be a child prodigy! >D
Eh, I guess I can pretend my char's face changed and her hair got longer. As for Noelle's change with time, I'm guessing her hair length will remain the same? I'll try to show a little change, maybe in her eyes.
I think I shall send out the notes very soon with what I'm planning (it's a lot and honestly I may be overestimating myself but it's such a cool concept I have to go for it!)
