Description
This, Alcelaphus buselaphus caama, is the hartebeest that occurs in southern Africa. They are quite large, reaching 150 cm/almost 5' at the shoulder and a bodyweight of 150 kg/330 lbs. They belong to the long-faced antelope subfamily, along with wildebeests and a few others. Watercolour with some digital tidying-up.Related content

I'll see about doing a blesbok painting next. I'd also like to paint all of them ... and also reconstruct some extinct ones like Megalotragus, Damalops and Damalacra. Sigh ... so much to do, so little time!
