Yeah. I used to live on the West Coast of Canada, and you can see the influence the Arts and Crafts movement had on some of the older buildings. Quite lovely.

I know what you mean. Victoria is full of them, though a lot of those old houses seem to have been stuccoed at some point in the past.

Hey, you guessed the very city and everything. But that's true. Shame. Have you ever seen Craigdarek Castle? Beautiful building built by coal tycoons - but it was used as a hospital, at one point, so the frescoed celings in some of the rooms were painted white! They've been restoring it for years, trying to get the paint off. Haven't been there in a decade, so I don't know if they ever finished.

It has been about that long for me as well, since crossing the border has gotten to be such a pain. And the red haired customs girl who used to waive me through no longer works in Vic. I have some old friends there, well out toward Foul Bay, and I may decide to go for a visit come spring. They have a house from the 1880s that Mark may restore, if Barbra can get him to put down the paper and pick up a hammer.

Luckily I don't have that problem, as I still live in Canada, but I can't really go back due to the lack of money. Penniless university student urg...
