The other thing that my idle brain came up with today.
A sort of next generation platoon.
Yes, everyone in the picture is the offspring or otherwise related to atleast one member of the Keroro or Garuru platoon.

First there's Geroro (corporal), who serves as their communications officer (but can use a gun of course) and hates his father for naming him after a fictional character.

Then there's his twin sister Girara (sergeant), who unfortunately seems to have inherited most of her dad's slacker behavior, but is kept in line...mostly by...

Imomo, the daughter of Giroro (sergeant major) that I've drawn way too much fanart of. She's taking after her father, but Garuru has had somewhat of a positive influence on her as well. Oh, her higher rank is simply because she's the oldest.

The youngest member is Daruru (private second class), who's about as annoying as his father was at that age. He idolizes both Girara and Imomo for some reason.

Last, but not least is Lance Corporal Shinono (from "shinobi"), who is...a ninja, gasp! Not quite as sappy and sentimental as his father, but he still isn't very fond of killing. He prefers to sedate his victims using various potions and powders he keeps in his bag.
