"Skyphos?" Violet asked, crouching to reach a flower from the meadow."Hmm?"
"What do you think it is about flowers that girls are supposed to like? Why do the people in town sell them and put them in their hair? The plants aren't even good for spices. What is the appeal of wasting our resources on these weeds that serve no purpose other than to wither and die on our foreheads?"
Holding his gaze over the hill, Skyphos replied, "People do a lot of strange and stupid things."

Skyphos and Violet were raised to value high efficiency in what they do and own. Neither can understand why someone would put any worth into something as meaningless as a pretty flower, but Violet will sometimes wonder how people could enjoy such a thing. Skyphos doesn't care to bother wondering.
