I love Valerie, I really do… but I can’t see her having a happy ending in the series. It breaks my heart to think about it, too. I mean, she’s an awesome character who’s grown up so much and sacrificed a lot…When/If she finds out about Danny/Vlad, it’s really going to hurt her since she genuinely likes Danny, and looks up to Vlad as her mentor. Considering how hard it is for her to let people into her life, I doubt that that’s a blow she can ever really get over, meaning she’ll seclude herself even more.
I know full well she and Danny aren’t going to get together in the series, and I doubt very much that she’ll ever have anything with Tucker again. People read way too much into that. (Valerie was using Tucker for information, and Tucker would fling himself at any girl who returned his smile. Besides, once Valerie finds out about Danny she’s gonna be mad at Sam and Tucker, too… ) She’s too proud to go back to the populars, and she won’t fit in anywhere else. In the end, thanks to her own pride, temper and sense of self-preservation, the only person she’ll have is herself.

Actually Valerie DID find out about Vlad when he overshadowed the people of the city to vote for him to become Mayor while Danny tried to expose him only it was one of his duplicates. Later on Valerie spied on Vlad while he was gloating to himself as his dupe formed back into him and that`s when she discovered that Vlad was a ghost.

About the only way I can see her ending up happy is if a new character is introduced if another season is made. Perhaps a young ghost hunting protege in the Men in White or another pawn of Vlad's given ghost hunting equipment. Valerie can't be the only one who's had their life ruined by ghosts and I can't see Vlad holding himself back from meddling.

that was really lovely, it makes sense of what you said about Valerie, she's such a unique character to the show now and yet, as long as she continues to hold on to her pride and hate for ghosts, she probably won't get any better. here's a good question for you, what other character from any show would you relate Valerie to?

Any character from any show? Probably Prince Zuko from Avatar; The Last Airbender. Both are proud characters prone to obsession, who work hard to get what they want. They’ve both fallen from grace and both are often viewed in less flattering lights, but they’re always strong no matter what, And they have their own sets of rules and standards they live by no matter what.

Yeah, you're right... and the ironic thing is that the writers will probably just convieniently skip over that whole aspect and not even mention her much near the end of the series (unless they decide to just cheaply fix the problem by pulling a random pairing for her out of thin air XP) *sigh* such a waste

Yeah, Valerie is setting herself up bad for being alone later in life.
But who knows? As a character she's already developed more than any other member of the cast, including Danny. I hold out hope that she'll surprise us yet.

I feel bad for the girl, I really do. She's so prideful, but in the end, it will most defintely lead to some terrible tragedy in her life.
Unforunately, they focus her so completely on her anger and pride that I have a hard time not getting angry at her now. I mean, I'm not one to only see in black and white (heh, I have som much fun with shades of grey its not even humourous anymore), but I think it deals with how much she ends up hurting Danny. Its obvious that he's not trying to harm anyone, especially her, but she just doesn't listen at all, and its going to end up escalating and hurting OTHER people too.
I really can't see her having a happy ending either, unless she swallows her pride and takes a step back from vengeance long enough to look at the big picture. If she ends up "destroying" Danny Phantom, she'll live in guilt knowing she killed (or even just seriously injured) the guy she likes, and if he ends up revealing it to her, she'll probably never be able to relate to people again.
Tragedy, but I suppose its part of the reason I can still like her so much. She's strong, she's complex, and she's definitely not perfect.
