Description
Soft eyes peered up at the darkening sky, her nostrils opening and closing with short puffs as she smelled the air. Her eyes were telling her there was a storm brewing and her nose confirmed it, the smell of water was faint yet growing. Her ears gave a twitch as she lowered her head just in time to see a colored blurr crash into her, forcing her to the ground due to the weight of the impact. Keiko let out a silent wheeze, eyes widening as the air was forced out of her and her head knocked against the ground. Dazed, she looked up to the thing that had crashed into her and was surprised to see that it was another kukuri. Their eyes were wide with fear, their chest rising up and down quickly like a dying rabbit's. Keiko stiffled a scream as the kukuri put a hand on her mouth, shaking their head quickly.
"N-No! Be silent miss! H-he'll hear us." They stammered out quietly as Keiko blinked.
The kukuri stared at her for a few moments, several heartbeats passed as the stranger's ears were alert for any noises, any at all. They raised their head, looking around before finally removing their hand from Keiko's mouth.
"Who?" Was the first word she had spoken after that as the other moved themselves off of her with haste.
"Him." They whispered "The mad brute himself. He lives in this neck of the woods, you better run bef-"
A twig snapped.
They didn't hesitate even for a second as they bolted into the trees without a word, leaving Keiko on the ground none the wiser about who this mad brute was. With a small sigh, she pushed herself onto her feet just to hear a loud sudden bloodcurtling shriek that was silenced just as fast as it had been heard. The smell of blood hung heavy to the air as Keiko's ears furled back. Perhaps it was a deer? A rabbit? Some other animal of prey that had been taken down? Instinct told her to stay away, to get away as fast as she could yet curiosity prompted her to move towards the location from where the blood was coming from. Her ears were shoved forward, alert for any signs of danger, as she walked forward with careful, light and slow steps.
She wished she hadn't let curiosity get the better of her.
Wide eyes stared blankly at the sky as a gorey scene marked the demise of the stranger she had just seen run into the trees not too long ago. Keiko's eyes widened before they shut themselves tightly, but it was too late. The image was engraved in her head as she covered her mouth with her hands.
"Wh-who would do this...?" She whispered, withholding a sob.
"Who? Who? Was it you? Coo coo roo. It wasn't me. Maybe it was the bees." A voice called out from behind her.
Keiko flinched as she whipped around to see nothing. This didn't relieve the fear that was quickly consuming her at all. Not one bit.
"Wh-where you the one who killed this fellow?" She called out, voice shaking just like the rest of her.
"Nobody's home." Was all that was given.
Keiko began to walk away from the trees as her eyes looked around, trying to find any sign that gave away the voice's owner. Her mistake was that she wasn't paying attention to her feet, her leg hit the dead body, now cold, staining her pale fur a dark crimson color as she stumbled back. Crashing into the ground, blood soaked the half of her face that had been touching the ground along with the rest of her body. Keiko let out a scream as she scrambled away from the dead kukuri, her eyes wide as her chest rose up and down, fear had taken over.
"Why?" She cried out "Why did you do it?"
"Oops." Was his reply, followed by a pregnant silence as Keiko could hear her heartbeat pounding in her ear tips.
Feeling something behind her, she turned around stiffly and slowly, as if she were afraid that if she turned around too quickly, whatever was behind her would disappear. Her ears drooped as her mouth parted into a frown. The dove's body shook with fear as she stared up into wild green eyes.
"Found you!" He chimed out as he fully emerged from the darkness of the trees slowly like thick ink running off the edge of something.
He was a large prairie, of a light opaque color with black areas covering certain areas of his body, as if he had been dunked within tar or ink and it was never cleaned. He had large horns that rose up and curved inwards, the horns of a devil, of a demon.
"Wh-who? M-m-me?" Keiko stammered out, voice high.
The prairie quickly forced his head down to her level with a large pleased grin on his face.
"Mine. Mine~!" He oozed out before grabbing the dove, holding her close to him as Keiko let out a panicked, quick and light breaths.
"P-pardon?"
"Mine! Sun with moon. Weakness with boon." Bendy chittered away "Stay, don't go away. Let's just play, don't delay! The bees, you see, the bees know what they need."
"But the other? The bees? Why? Why are you doing this?" She demanded, practically screaming out as she struggled against the prairie rook. "Don't you care?"
"Nobody's home!" Bendy howled out, starting to laugh before Keiko suddenly found teeth being bared in front of her. "Stay? The sun needs his moon. Every weakness has a boon. Attack just like-"
He went silent. She went still.
The only thing that could be heard was the sound of rain drops hitting the ground, the leaves, the earth. Thick drops of water rolled off of the dove's terrified face as she stared at the still prairie. Grey eyes looked into green orbs and where there was once madness, there was a lost look. Keiko found her chest aching as the look resembled the look of someone hurt, hurt in a way no one could see. A hurt that left invisible wounds, a hurt that was like shattered glass. It hurt so bad...so terribly bad if one stepped on shattered glass yet it was even worse to repair. Glass once shattered, never feels the same. It never looks the same after it has been put back together. Keiko didn't have time to ask as the prairie's hold had loosened before it had tightened once again.
The madness returned as he resued laughing as if nothing had happened. Pale mouths moved in tandems as a lighter voice joined in the laughter, earning her silence as the other laughter faded out. Bendy stared at Keiko with a tilt of his head, this dove had just been terrified, fear had been radiating off of her like the sweetest of honeys, yet there she was... laughing with him.
"Bees?"
Keiko hesitated for a few moments before giving looking up at him with wide eyes. Red patches covered her . Black patches covered his.
She smiled.
"The bees need their honey."
He grinned. They sang. The dead stared.

Thank you so much! That's the real question isn't it, to run or to stay? Especially when in such a voltaile situation such as this. Thank you so much for the comment it means a lot, especially to hear the approval from one of the kuku's owners! ;v;

Holy cow! This has to be one of the best things I've read in a long time! I'm always sitting in awe of your writing skills, then it's how well you can capture a character. And then the craving you leave when the piece ends, the need for more!
Thank you so very much for this Ani! You did an amazing job!

I read it once, filled with excitement to see how somebody would portray him through something as intimate as literature and description,
I was very impressed and equally pleased with it, thinking I might not be able to write a more fitting enamored with him myself. But then I read it
a second time, where the excitement had ebbed away and I was left with the raw emotions you crafted, and I cried when I got towards the end, and I
cried some more after the end of it, while running it all through my mind a third time.
You did such a magnificent job portraying his madness, and describing how broken he's become. Each scene was vivid and the entirety was powerful,
an incredible creation, a wonderful piece. A beautiful treat for this girl who is the furthest thing from a book-worm.
Thank you so very much for taking this commission for Lam,
thank you Lam so very much for commissioning this to exist

AHHHHH I'm extremely glad to hear that you have no idea ;A; Bendy was a tricky character for me to nail down, especially with a character such as Keiko so I'm honored to hear that you, his owner, enjoyed the piece. Thank you so much for the comment, it means a lot!
