FINALLY got around to drawing Batman. I tried to incorporate a different side of him than the standard, "Batman kicking someone in the face."There's a story behind the drawing, but that's a mystery!
I used to a bunch of stock in this one too, from the following accounts:

Oh, way cool! LOVE the reference to "A Study in Scarlet", but of course, you could have guessed I would. Waaaaait a minute... Was Bats picking his nose??

haha. No. That's significantly less gross than some of the other predictions of how Batman got that on his hand though.
I was going for a bit of a mystery thing. Who is behind the murder? Is the green glowing goop one of Joker's ingredients for his chemical attacks, or is it maybe some fluid from Ra's Al Ghul's Lazarus pits?

I thank you sir. I still think I need to do a bit more work on the costume. I sort of wussed out and hid most of it in shadow.

yeah I would say at least Adam West and Frank Miller-ish on this one, very nice!

Thanks man! There is quite a lot of Conan Doyle in there too.

This is kinda Adam West meets Frank Miller meets Burton's Batman.
Which I mean as a compliment.

haha. Nice. I definitely threw that eyebrow in there as a bit of a Adam West throwback. That's cool that you caught it.

This is fantastic! I love the moodiness and all the textures. It's nice to Batman fanart in an actual detective-like scenario/pose...or looking rather paranoid that someone spotted him mining for nose gold.....

That's awesome that you picked up on that. I took the whole thing directly out of a Sherlock Holmes book (just changed some colors and costumes).
haha. I wish my bogies were that color.

Well, Batman did start off in Detective Comics. I think you did a nice job of portraying that element of the character. Way to go using Sherlock Holmes as the source.
If your bogies were that color, I'd be afraid you'd have a sinus infection.

Either that or I'd have super kryptonite bogies and could kill Superman by sneezing on him. There's something Lex should have tried, splicing some sort of virus with kryptonite to give Superman a killer flu.

I used to be an addict in college...I have the first 5 seasons on DVD. I haven't seen many of the recent ones though...I tried watching one the other day and I became really confused. I liked Lana better when she was a naive barista and I think that the new Supergirl looks like a pug. I absolutely hate her face.

Oh well, nothing I said that spoils anything...unless you were expecting supergirl to be hot. Season 2 was the best....after that it gets really hokey. And if you're on Season 4, you know what I mean.
Interesting side note: my internship supervisor when to high school with Tom Welling and apparently he broke the screen door of her house when he was drunk and still owes her $50 for the repair.

I WAS expecting Supergirl to be hot. Argh. And speaking of hokey, All this witch ancestor stuff is real dumb. Lana looks so dumb doing the accent. Barf! To be honest, I never thought the show was very good. Mostly I just make fun of it. I do think it's cool that they are starting to introduce actual DC characters though.
haha. Nice. It cracks me up that the guy is playing a high school freshman when he's obviously 25 or 26.

The show on the whole is dumb...I used to watch it with my friends because a) Tom Welling is quite the manly stud and b) it's way too easy to make fun of. It was the best scoping out the "gayest look" of the episode between Lex and Clark. Years ago there used to be a fan music video set to Hungry Eyes and it was possibly one of the funniest things I've ever seen. I would also suggest reading the Television Without Pity recaps because they are hi-larious.

Sadly, my reasons for watching it aren't any more noble. There are a lot of really hot girls in the cast. And the episode where Clark is exposed to red kryptonite and becomes a motorcycle bad-boy is probably the dumbest/funniest thing I've seen this month.

hever In reply to WonderDookie [2008-04-19 23:00:22 +0000 UTC]
Oh...I know. Red kryptonite always led to the stupidest plots....I was actually embarrassed for the show when watching that episode. It was so bad I couldn't even laugh.
My favorite episode ever is the one where "Whitney" comes back from the war...the show opened up with Clark fixing the sink and the water splashing up on him as the camera slowly paned up his abs under the soaked white shirt. Best. Opening. Everrrrr.

It's so GOOFY though. Especially now that they show a shot of him in the glasses and leather jacket in the beginning credits. It makes me laugh every time. SO CHEESY!
Hmm... I must have been looking away during that opening. I tend to be doing other stuff while I watch that show. If I just sat and watched it without doing anything else, I'd probably hate the show.

If you look away, you miss so many sweet expressions. Go back and watch it...if I can remember correctly, Lana's tongue almost fell out of her mouth. Or maybe that was me....
