Occasionally Faye would make her way to visit Vixen, the small Draken becoming a new worry in her world. When she wasn't trying to make money she was going to Dr. Heartstring's place with fruit that helped with colds and were very nutritious. During her visits her heart ached, the constant reminder that they were now her responsibility made it almost too hard to bare.

"Morning Vixen," Faye hummed kindly as she entered the room early in the morning, the small Draken blinking away sleep as they heard someone enter the room. A soft smile reached across their face as they shifted upwards in the gigantic bed they laid in. "How are you doing sleeping beauty," she raised a brow as she set a fruit basket by their side, words careful as she waited to be corrected.

"Sleeping prince," Vixen said softly, "I feel like a prince today." he quickly added, Faye taking this in as she nodded in understatement. It was simple, the day previous he was feeling like a she, someday he might feel like a they. Faye had quickly explained the term Gender fluid to Vixen to make sure he understood what he was going through, because Faye wished she knew about the spectrum when she was younger, would've prevented a lot of anxiety.

"Alright prince, how are you doing? I brought some er... fruits." she supplied with a wave of her paw to show off the basket. It was still somewhat hard to speak to this kid-- she was never good with children after all-- so Faye resorted to talking to him like he was just a patient she had to look after. Vixen seemed to notice her hesitant smile and shuffled uncomfortably, "Fine. Sleepy... little dizzy..." he explained.  Her gaze kept ominously looking back towards to door as pain lingered in her gaze, she wanted out of this stuffy room.

The conversation from then on went on rather awkwardly, Faye would shuffle in her seat and avoid Vixen's eye contact. Less than an hour later Faye took off, leaving the fruit basket behind for him to enjoy while he laid there and went home.

She told herself it'd be fine, but would it really?

It seemed to happen later that night as she laid in her bed, heart racing as she begged for sleep to come. Her mind was racing back and forth, often enough her mind with flash to Vixen and her younger self; the small purple Nyulop who begged to be something she was lacking in. She had to be perfect, no matter what; so how could she do that with this kid getting in her way?

The moment she thought she could fall asleep a vivid image flooded into her mind: falling. She had been standing on a  pedestal previously, proud beaming on her face and cheers and claps carried her on in victory. She was soaring above the clouds, no one near her as a crown lingered on her head. Of course that didn't last long as a white flowering cherry blossom landed on the tip of her nose, then she felt weight burn into her chest. Moments later she was falling, darkness surrounding her body as gravity took her under its wing.

Faye flung out of her bed, a cold sweat making her fur stick close to her body. Her usually perfect fur was matted and messy, ears lowered as he head started to shake briefly. The only thing that kept her from more panic was her mind telling her to breath steadily, to close her eyes and forget about what that dream actually meant.

It took hours for Faye to calm herself, and by then the sun was rising once again. A new day was to begin, she had to work in a few hours. As she sat at the side of her bed, hands covering her ears and eyebrows pinched tightly, her mind still began to wander. She hadn't felt this anxiety in such a very long time, so why was she feeling it now?

    Vixen.

Her mind seemed to connect to the dream she had, the flower petal was very similar to the ones on Vixen's branches. "I'm going mad..." Faye muttered to herself as she rubbed at her eyes and got up. It was hard to do everything when she got ready for the day. The water felt heavy when she showered, the food hard to swallow, and her feet like weights. She grabbed the red poncho that was on a coat rack, quickly put it around her fluffy mane, and locked the apartment door behind her.

She began to walk in a set direction, she had to go and visit Vixen early this morning and work later tonight. Yes, they were expecting her today so she had to visit them....

    ...or did she?

It wasn't like they would miss her for the day, and they had enough fruit to last at least a week; she'd visit tomorrow anyways so things would be fine! Yes. Tomorrow. They won't mind one bit.

She never returned after that day...

But what an interesting twist the story's taken! What Faye was going through felt real and it makes you really empathize with both of them in this situation.
Best of luck and wishes to them and to you!

I do not blame her. I would probably be unable to keep a child that was suddenly put into my hands
