Silentpaw was born mute, thus making them a very silent and careful cat. They are always looking around, keeping an eye on even the smallest of things that is going on around camp. Ever since they were young they've been raised to be a very polite and gentle feline, always making sure everyone was happy and safe; and also learning not to disrespect the older (thus more wiser) cats. Since they were raised to never really "speak their mind"-- as much as a silent cat can speak their mind-- Silenthowl is more of a pacifist who enjoys sitting back and taking in the smaller things in life.

While being raised in the forest for a few moons, Silenthowl has grow to be the more curious type of cat. They let their interest in things take a hold and control them; which eventually made them grow interested in stuff that happens at night. This later led to them causing rumors about a ghost haunting the forest-- but that was luckily proven wrong by Beetleface. Silenthowl is also a very stoic person, finding it very hard to show emotion on their face. Instead it's always an expression of nothing, them just staring into the eyes of the person they're talking to.

Since they're such a pacifist, Silenthowl is a very fickle creature who easily changes their mind if something bad happens. Be it an opinion or a view on religion, Silenthowl doesn't hold strong views towards anything unless it means a lot to them. They also prefer to be lazy, the many moons of traveling made resting one of their favorite things in the world; although this can make them rather slow on on duties within the clan. Lastly, even if he means it or not, Silenthowl is very secretive. Despite being mute, Silenthowl doesn't like to express emotion or their problems, thus keeping it to them self.

Luckily, this make them a very good listener if you need someone to gossip to.

History:

At the time of their birth, everything seemed to be hazy.

They were young when it happened so they don't remember much, but there was always this familiar warmth he felt when wrapped up by his mother's belly. Their mothers name was long forgotten-- perhaps it was 'Sparrow' something-- but the name they were supplied was clear as day: Gracklekit. It was a small clan, only consisting of 10 cats that would travel around the world in search for something or someone to give them a sign that the clan was home. The clan went by the name of Cloudclan, named to symbolize the clouds that they always followed while traveling. Gracklekit remembers their older siblings the most, her soft cream pelt matched that of their father, and her familiar green eyes matched their own emerald ones.

Creamheart was her name, the cream color pelt she had. She would always look after and carry the young Gracklekit, even if she was forced to carry them at the time and thought Gracklekit was annoying, they would never know because of the warm and caring feeling she gave off. While traveling, Gracklekit spent their time staring into the distance, taking in everything that was moving past them.

Trees, flowers, birds, clouds. Anything with color caught their eyes.

It had only been a moon and a half when their parents found something off with them. Gracklekit hadn't spoken a single word ever, and they soon discovered that they had the inability to talk; the leaders of the clan took this a sign of impurity thanks to their pitch black pelt as well. The leaders were about to leave the kit behind, but rumors of a prophecy began to spread: “When the star meets the earth it will be cleansed of its impurities. When the sacrifice has been made, the land will start anew.”

This lead the leaders of Cloudclan to go to the land that was suppose to bring them a new land, they were fully ready to sacrifice this kit if it meant getting the land that they have been following for years. Gracklekit might’ve been mute, but their ears were so use to being open to sound that they overheard this and grew fearful; the only cat who gave a second thought about them was their sister who didn’t want them to be sacrificed. They slept less in those days, scared that their leaders would appear in the night to take them away from their sister. When they reached the prophesied land the clan soon discovered that there were an endless amount of clans there to take their land, so they grew hostile. They would attack any cats that got near there temporary land, and would even go out of their way to try and run clans off. Gracklekit would only sit there and watch, observant like always. Their leaders haven’t tried to sacrifice them yet but they were still fearful.

Everything changed when the prophecy hit.

There was a lot of yelling and crying, Gracklekit remembered that as clear as day while they hid away in fear. Prior to that evening the leaders had taken them away from the nest they laid in and towards the center of the land. Fortunately for Gracklekit when the giant star in the sky came crashing down the leaders left out of fear, leaving the poor kit to fend for themself. Their own silent cries made it hard for them to cry out for help. If it wasn't for Creamheart seeing their sibling hidden beneath a bush, who knows what would've happen to Gracklekit at that time. Taking them out of the bush, the two ran as far as they could but the impact was too much; the last thing the kitten knew was that Creamheart was gone and they woke up covered by branches. Cloudclan was gone, just like many other clans and cats: was the sacrifice suppose to be the only one to survive?

Pain ached throughout their small body. They were lost, scared, and unsure of where they were despite being surrounded by trees. There was a bitter smell of smoke nearby, so Gracklekit made sure not to go over towards the smell. All alone and unsure of what to do, the young cat made the forest their temporary home and hit away in a broken tree that had a hallow space perfect for them. It was less than a moon or two-- so they thought-- that they began to live in that tree, but Gracklekit soon began to see cats appear in groups. These cats all seemed to have this distinct smell that was almost similar to living in a clan. Curious, the young cat began to watch them from afar.

This made rumors spread about a mysterious figure haunting the woods. One moment the ghost was there, the next it was gone. This sparked interest in some cats to investigate, thus Beetleface began to grow curious. One night when in the forest Gracklekit came across the she-cat and grew curious. All these times they watched from afar, but the starving kit grew a bit too curious this time. When they approached Beetleface it was obvious that the young cat was slowly starving, their lanky body skinnier than usual. The older cat must've realized this and decided to take them in.

Beetleface tried endlessly to get the kitten to talk and tell her their name, but to no avail. Instead they were renamed as Silentpaw and given a home in Sunclan, providing the young cat a home and food. Silentpaw enjoyed the name they were given, but couldn't help but feel empty without the familiar smell of their sister; not to mention the overall religious cats made them remember the corrupt leaders that tried to sacrifice Silentpaw to the "prophecy."

They decided to enjoy their new home and family despite this. Silentpaw wanted to give thanks to Beetleface somehow, and showing their loyalty it what they decided would be the best thing to do.

Their time in Sunclan has brought them a new sense of love. Silenthowl has learned to show emotion, and while it may still be rare to see them smile it's worth it. Cricketsong was announced as Silenthowl's mentor when they were first made an apprentice. Back then the clan was small yet wild; but Sunclan quickly grew. Many things changed, Silenthowl made some friends: Mulp, Swiftstrike, and Wolftalon to name a few. Silenthowl had some anxieties about being good enough to become a warrior-- since all their friends were announced as warrior early-- which caused for Silenthowl to grow restless and try to prove them self. After a wild fight with some kangaroos, the (at the time) apprentice had a chat with Cricketsong and helped ease their worries.

Upon getting their warrior name, Silenthowl made it their goal to be the best nightstalker there is. They would always patrol at night, keeping an eye out for anything to protect Sunclan. The only thing they couldn't prevent was the death of Kestlespot. Silenthowl had never been close to the warrior but he was there since the beginning and that caused for the clan to change. The overall atmosphere of the clan was sad as they tried to move on, but Silenthowl kept positive. In return they were even reunited with their sister Creamheart, which allowed for Silenthowl to open up more emotion. They smile, they cry, and they try to be more expressive when near friends. Swiftstrike is usually the one who ends up receiving a lot of these smiles whenever the two meet, although it has become harder for Silenthowl to talk to their friend ever since becoming a Nightstalker. At least they're able to chat in their free time.
