2. Wind-Up Key

The key clicked as it began to turn, a haunting music box melody starting to float from the stage... the base. The young man felt strange, his body wasn't responding as he bowed and took a first position...

He had bought the key since it looked like it would fit in an old music box he bought at a flea market. The stand was a pretty plain antique and didn't come with the winding key, but it was still a cool, cheap find. When he got home from Miss Ombre's shop, he tried out the key. To his surprise and excitement, the key slipped in without any trouble. He turned the key, the clicking of tumblers and winding of coils could be heard. He didn't notice his body shrinking, or that his form was growing more feminine, he only seemed to care about winding the box up more and more.

As the music played, the now young woman found her body moved to another position. Her movements were graceful, if a touch stiff. She groaned, trying to break the cycle, but she found she couldn't feel her fingers. Then her wrists felt... odd... stiff... she moved to another position as her tutu flicked with the sudden movement. She felt dizzy, eyes taking on a glassy stare as her joints creaked slightly... her owner would need to oil her... she heard the music starting to wind down, her wooden form fully replacing the human she had been. A crown of feathers wrapped around her head as she slowly moved to a bowed position...

She hoped someone would wind her up again soon... she loved to dance for her owner...
