Yeah, but this came out in 2009. By then, many cartoons had already been animated in this format, so it wasn't like we weren't use to seeing it.

I think the poor CGI was intentional in this case, where as " Perfect " was just Courage's normal level of scary beefed up by the early '00's limitations.
 You do have a point, I've also found that CGI in hand drawn cartoons usually lends itself to the Uncanny Valley, because it's just very out of place in regards
to how you normally see the show animated.
