Description Seems, I have the problems with drawing pics with full-digital method. This picture with Slavic Goddess Makosh (the mistress of Fate, women and motherhood) is 6 months old... ^_~
When I'll finish it?..

Oh wow that's beautiful.. I like her jewelry; it's all nice and shiny and pretty.. I love the color of her eyes especially; such a deep blue and they go well with her hair and clothes.

Hehe, so you like russian traditional clothes? ^_~ Her "crown" is called "venets" (ะฒะตะฝะตั†, it's traditional festive head-dress. And wheat-haired and sky-eyed persons were ancient Slavic norm...... ^_^

Tortured it? *My* drawings are torturing something. Yours are like a day at the spa. ^_^

Errrm... If we didn't know what we have to do with picture, our teachers of drawing and painting said that we torture pics... ^_^ I mean this...

XanthFilatine In reply to Cloudgardien [2005-10-03 18:18:50 +0000 UTC]

I liked all my art teachers. But not the teachers of history and maths! ^_^

Cloudgardien In reply to XanthFilatine [2005-10-03 22:52:24 +0000 UTC]

I hated my art teachers! One thought that *everything* should be drawn with the use of a protractor or ruler, and the other refused to believe that animals (anthro art, really) actually qualifed as art! *fumes* I don't have very good luck with that...

And I aimed to take all that they could give me. It was my pretty trouble that I began to study drawing when I was a student, and not a child. My mother had a lot against my wish to be an animator or an artist, what is why I had a chance only in college. There was a drawing school for all students who want to draw. And I fell upon....... ^_____________^

Cloudgardien In reply to XanthFilatine [2005-10-05 17:37:56 +0000 UTC]

I'm sort of lucky. My parents don't try to discourage me from being an artist. However, my dad doesn't believe that I actually have any talent. He's always trying to get to draw a different way or a different style. He thinks that my anime-ish style is nothing but copying. He thinks I can't do anything else without 'copying' it off of someone else's work.. But once I get into art classes next year, I'll show him..! *shakes fist* I can too do other types of art!

๐Ÿ‘: 0 โฉ: 1

XanthFilatine In reply to Cloudgardien [2005-10-05 18:15:13 +0000 UTC]

I began to draw purposeful in anime-style using the copying of Sailormoon artworks. Really. ^_^'''''
The ones who know this style bad, they don't understand that it's a assortment of canons, as in the painting of the Middle Age, as the icon painting, as the China painting etc. Anime-art has its rules and conditions, as multicoloured hairs, or "sweatdrops" and "crosses", or black outlines, or "hard" shadows, or the rule of "all the principal characters are beautiful, it's doesn't matter are them good or bad". It's not a personal style of one artist, it's a great school of animation and illustration (and manga-comics too, ^_^). But for make our art better we have still to study the classic school of academic drawing and painting. Their principal rules are the same for all the drawing schools - and anime-school too. ^_^

Cloudgardien In reply to XanthFilatine [2005-10-06 17:33:21 +0000 UTC]

^^ I started anime the same way you did, and my first anime drawing was... A very bad Sailor Moon. <.<.. Coincidence or irony?

*saves comment to print out and show her father* You know, some of those, like the ones about characters being beautiful.. I'd never noticed that but I followed it instinctually nonetheless. But you're absolutely right!

Cloudgardien In reply to XanthFilatine [2005-10-08 15:50:22 +0000 UTC]

I think the only reason mine was recognizable as Sailor Moon was because I had two vague bun-like shapes, colored yellow, that you could just barely see was her hair... -.-' I think I might've burned it.

Never burn your pictures! They're the best way to see your own progress in drawing!
