Description
Update: Due to a hard drive crash in July where I lost all of my files, I'm uncertain of whether or not I'll be able to upkeep the visual portion of this timeline. I will update the written version as information is released, but as for the visual timeline, without the PSD I can't do a whole lot to edit it without potentially making it look cluttered and awful. If I can find a copy of the PSD hiding somewhere, or a work-around for the lack of PSD, I'll keep updating the image as well, but right now I'm not sure what's going to happen with that.Oh holy fucking shit, I must be insane.
I have put almost 12 hours of work into this thing. Why? Who knows.
I have been slowly rereading the Warriors series over the last year, but not in any particular order outside of the actual series. It's actually kind of difficult to read them all chronologically, because no two sources can seem to agree. I also couldn't ever find any visual source, and sifting through the Warriors Wiki is a pain in the ass.
So, if for nothing else than for my own reference, here is a completed visual, chronological timeline of all the Warriors books! (Excluding guides. Those are all over the damn place and I'm not even going to bother.)
In case there's any trouble reading the timeline, it basically follows a zigzag pattern: start with The Sun Trail, down to Thunder Rising, back up to The First Battle, etc.
It's also color coded, so everything written in the same color as the main header for a particular "time" fits into that particular "time" category. (I.E. Crookedstar's Promise is the same shade of blue as Before the Prophecies Begin header, so is considered to be part of that "category.")
And since this image is so huge, I'll go ahead and write a breakdown of it here for those that would prefer it. Everything is in order, and again broken down by the same categories.
Dawn of the Clans
The Sun Trail; Thunder Rising; The First Battle; The Blazing Star; A Forest Divided; Path of Stars; Moth Flight's Vision (SE); Thunderstar's Echo (EN)
Before the Prophecies Begin
Cloudstar's Journey (EN); Mapleshade's Vengeance (EN); Pinestar's Choice (EN); Goosefeather's Curse (EN); Tallstar's Revenge (SE); Yellowfang's Secret (SE); Bluestar's Prophecy (SE); Crookedstar's Promise (SE); Spottedleaf's Heart (EN)
The Prophecies Begin
Into the Wild; Fire and Ice; Forest of Secrets; Tigerclaw's Fury (EN); Rising Storm; Tigerstar and Sasha #1: Into the Woods (M); A Dangerous Path; The Rise of Scourge (M); Tigerstar and Sasha #2: Escape from the Forest (M); The Darkest Hour; Tigerstar and Sasha #3: Return to the Clans (M); Ravenpaw's Path #1: Shattered Peace (M); Ravenpaw's Path #2: A Clan in Need (M); Ravenpaw's Path #3: The Heart of a Warrior (M); Firestar's Quest (SE)
The New Prophecy
Midnight; Moonrise; Dawn; The Lost Warrior (M); Starlight; Twilight; Warrior's Refuge (M); Sunrise; Warrior's Return (M); Skyclan's Destiny (SE); Skyclan and the Stranger #1: The Rescue (M); Skyclan and the Stranger #2: Beyond the Code (M); Skyclan and the Stranger #3: After the Flood (M); Leafpool's Wish (EN)
Power of Three
The Sight; Dark River; Outcast; Eclipse; Long Shadows; Sunrise
Omen of the Stars
The Fourth Apprentice; Mistystar's Omen (EN); Fading Echoes; Ravenpaw's Farewell (EN) *; Night Whispers; Sign of the Moon; Hollyleaf's Story (EN); The Forgotten Warrior; The Last Hope; Dovewing's Silence (EN); Bramblestar's Storm (SE) *
A Vision of Shadows
Hawkwing's Journey (SE) *; The Apprentice's Quest; Thunder and Shadow; Shattered Sky; Darkest Night **; Tigerheart's Shadow (SE); River of Fire **
Key
SE - Super Edition
EN - E-book or novella
M - Manga
* - These books are unclear about when exactly they take place, and so I've taken my best guess. Ravenpaw's Farewell, according to the Warriors Wiki happens after Fading Echoes but before Hawkwing's Journey and Night Whispers, but Hawkwing's Journey takes place at the same time as Bramblestar's Storm AND Ravenpaw's Farewell?? But Bramblestar's Storm follows Dovewing's Silence and is supposedly followed by Hawkwing's Journey AND The Apprentice's Quest??? So if anyone wants to provide some clarity, by all means. I took my best guess, so this is what you get.
** - Books with double asterisks have also been faded on the timeline, as they have also not been released yet, meaning they could later change their place on the timeline. Given that Tigerheart's Shadow is set to release in September 2017 and Darkest Night (book #4 in AVOS) is scheduled to release in November 2017, I think it's safe to say they won't be giving away AVOS4 in Tigerheart's book. River of Fire (as I understand it) is currently a working title and will be coming after Darkest Night, supposedly in March 2018. As I predicted, Tigerheart's Shadow is confirmed to be set after the events of Darkest Night, despite being released two months earlier. It's said the events between the two will reconnect in River of Fire.
And finally, I do plan to update this as more books are released and announced.
This timeline was compiled using a combination of the Warrior's Wikia , a dedicated fan who had a slightly outdated written timeline , the official Warrior's website , and the Ultimate Guide's included poster timeline (uploaded by a fan.)
If anyone wants a copy of the PSD to mess around with, shoot me a note. If anyone can clarify the stupid Ravenpaw/Hawkwing/Bramblestar situation, that would be great. That's ridiculous.

This is pretty cool!
But wouldn't The Rise of Scourge be before Into The Wild? Since Tigerstar was Tigerpaw?

There was an official timeline released by the Erins and that's where it places The Rise of Scourge. It's weird, I agree. I've just finished reading Tallstar's Revenge and Yellowfang's Secret, and there SO. MANY. inconsistencies between the two as far as timing. Like, Shrewclaw and Barkface are brothers, older than Talltail, and Talltail receives his warrior name a moon or so after Shrewclaw. But then in YFS, they show Talltail on a patrol into ShadowClan territory with "Shrewpaw" who is described as much younger. And then Barkface, who SHOULD be older than Yellowfang if Talltail is an apprentice when Yellowfang is born, is shown as a new apprentice to Hawktail (WindClan medicine cat) when Yellowfang takes on Runningpaw, which puts at least a couple years between Barkface and Shrewclaw, when they're shown as littermates older than Talltail.
Basically the Erins fucked up their own timeline and I don't think they even try anymore at this point, LOL.

Holy, I didn't even know that!
But I guess that's what you get for having so many writers that knows next to nothing about what the others are writing.

Yeah, it's pretty ridiculous. The sad thing is that there are EASILY several ways they could keep track of all this shit and coordinate with each other, and I honestly can't understand why they don't. Or if they do they're doing a pretty poor job of it. The series is huge so some mistakes are forgivable, but they have so many... And in the case of Tallstar's Revenge and Yellowfang's Secret, Yellowfang's book came out almost a full year before Tallstar's Revenge, so there was obviously time to do some checking with each other...

Oh well, at least the fans can keep track.
That's honestly a confidence boost. Thank you.

Wow. You are crazy! This is awesome though. I haven't read a warrior's book in ages, but this makes me want to start them up again because now I can go in chronological order!

Yeah, after working on it for so long, I definitely felt pretty crazy! Glad I can help out, though. I know one of the biggest hurdles doing a re-read for me was trying to figure out WHERE to start. I ended up just starting off at the beginning of PO3 because that was the last series I remember reading some of. They have soooo many books out now, it's insane!
