I never wanted to say this. You never wanted to stay, whoa did you? I put my faith in you, so much faith, and then you threw it awayA picture for Christmas...the only thing is it has NOTHING to do with the holidays orz. Anyway, Merry Christmas EVE~ I guess i will have to draw a christmas picture for everyone with my new tablet tomorrow
Anywhos, hope you like it...i took some time on this one...and i ACTUALLY sketched it out first which i think made it look a lot better...i think i'll start doing that again.

Wow! First of all i wanted to say how this caught my eye! Its an amazing piece. The depth perception you used is very captivating. I See how the light shows the "optimism" of a new discovery! And for Christmas time, it is a very well thought out piece!
For the colors, I must say they are stunning, that dark steel blue grey you chose is wonderful, and i really do like the white scaled around the neck and they eyes! ^^
I do believe you have a future with your art career! I can see that plainly! You have a wonderful technique and vision for your work! And i hope you keep it up!

I can see you have used reference, and it have done good. Clearly you have gotten help of it, but you have also managed to push your own style in the picture, which makes a very nice and balanced mixture.
Your drawing is many ways very soft, which on the other hand makes the eyes pop out, now that you have lined them very strongly. The same dark tone is on the lips also, but you have softened them to fit better in the dogs muzzle. Some sort of softening for the eyes could have made them to fit in the dogs head better also (although some dog breeds have very dark and clear eye lines)
The biggest problem in the picture seems to be the framing: The dog itself takes less than a half of the space, yet this seems to be pretty much close-up picture with non-detailed background. Cutting off the ears looks unconsidered because of the amount of the background. Likely the watchers are more interested of the dog also, because of the lack of details of the background.
Some pretty nice aspect in the picture is also the way you have used colors. A variety of tones makes this a lot more interesting and pleasant to look than plain flat colors would have made.
Overall this is quite promising picture. I also checked your gallery, it looked pretty nice. Keep it up :3
