Description This came out much larger than anticipated...
But I am pretty happy with it nonetheless. <3

ALSO, in case you can't read the message over Infected's chest, is says 'WARNING!'.

And so here's the concept of Virus!Sans, the left being his 'normal' state and the right is the 'Infected' stage that is always lingering within the his own code. Virus!Sans suffers from unexpected 'Flash Emerges' of his infected soul, the live codings, AKA Back Straps, show the consent, ever changing lines of those 1's and 0's sequences, a lot of them baring holes of 'emptiness' that--when a black hole passes through his core, his soul--causes a sudden image change for as long as that gap is passing through. It only lasts if only a second or three depending on how big that gap is before his image reverts back to his 'normal' state.

With his being changed to the core by the stolen number values, he has gained a few physical changes--a main change being his Back Straps. These act as extra limbs for him, aiding him extra hands specially when gathering codes from other multi-verses to rebuild his own timeline. With nothing in his home world, he has to go elsewhere to get the needed number values to make something in an empty void. Though the more of his powers he uses, the more coding within himself is devoured, leaving more holes within him. With his body eating itself away, he needs to keep renewing his coding supply so it would not only keep his body from eating itself out of existence, but to keep the number of sudden emerges of the virus inside at the very minimum. These 'attacks' in himself aren't pretty as each second Infected shows itself, it gives out a demented screech and/or cry with expected pain to himself being made.

His Back Straps, when not in use, are small and act as loss clothing, though when active, they can stretch out and create hands at their ends at will. Not only are they able to lift his body from the ground, but they allow him to move quickly and climb to heights otherwise unreachable. In battle, he tends to stick to places off the ground where he feels safer, summoning Gaster Blasters at will to fire from different angles. Though to save coding, as creating Gaster Blasters takes up the most coding than any other attack, he has taken the habit to connect his Back Straps to the G. Blasters themselves. Giving them necks and stability, they are able to fire more than one blast usage before disappearing. When a G. Blaster is used up or fails upon being created, Virus!Sans tends to violently throw the used head away, either at his target or elsewhere where it would crash before breaking apart. Since V. Sans is in fact, a viruital being, 1/3 of his attacks may not work upon being summoned--in example 2 of 5 G. Blasters will not be able to load and be stuck 'buffering' before firing nothing at all. It being wasted coding in V. Sans' sockets which can get pretty aggravating. His missing codes can also lead V.Sans to glitching in repeat actions 2-3 times in a row--which can hinder him or aid him depending on the situation. In example, he can make an evading leap and end up glitching 2-3 times further than his normal jump would have landed him or instead of summoning 2 expected G. Blasters, 4-6 G. Blasters could be summoned instead which would be more than intended and an over-usage of code.

While V. Sans' Back Strap hands are made for rebuilding, Infected's hands are made for destroying, tearing valued numbers apart instead of collecting them up. He is wilder than V.Sans and has visible bodily defects which leads to his own image spazzing out in a static-like nature at random points which gives him more of the 'horror' manner than his normal state of being. His Infected image brings out more of his 'virus' nature and doing what his tangled, butchered coding implies he do--eat away at the mainframe and destroy the branching AU worlds. Just like what a high risk virus can do to a computer and shut it down completely. Seeing that V.Sans wants to rebuild his world and bring back his loved ones, he does not agree nor even like what he has become and has taken the habit to always wear his hood up to cover his shame.

V.Sans can also relate to the sad and happy mask as his normal state of being never smiles and his Infected image always smiles. Even if V.Sans was able to manage a grin, the grinning side of his face would tear away into its infected image, seeming it takes his virus traits to even show any happiness in him. In reality, it makes him feel like a prisoner of his own body--but with the hope and progress of bring his world back, his desire to live remains.

I had a lot of fun really, drawing the 'breaking matter' of his being, it makes me think he would really enjoy the game Tetris cause of how you have to put everything together just right to complete the building shapes. It relates to his self-proclaimed job and just seems like something he'd play from time to time. xD

Undertale belongs to Toby Fox
Virus!Sans and image belong to me. :3

This picture confuses me. It shows them in seperate bodies and it appears that they are fighting for controll of the gaster blaster. Wait does whoever has control of the blaster have control of the actual body and this is just whats going on in their head.

This is just an old ref just showing what each side looks like--it's two sides of the mirror using the Blaster as the divider.
Again though, it's a very old ref and will be redone as an actual ref-style image in time.

Yep, Virus AUs aren't really original. xD
So there's bound to be many of those. lol

So I was just wondering, how powerful exactly are the characters in this AU and it's cybercore counterpart? As in, can they destroy universes, multiple universes, or more? That kinda thing always interests me.

XenomorphicDragon In reply to DoUGotValocadron [2017-10-09 07:19:41 +0000 UTC]

The virus beings in Virustale are destructive beings. There are different categories and levels of viruses, course cat 3s and 4s are the highest threat levels. They are capable of tearing worlds apart is left unchecked, which is why the Cybercore--an anti virual world--counter acts against these viruses' doings. In example of what damages, V is a cat 4 virus, which is labeled as a 'World Eater'. Name alone should tell you that he is capable of eating the very code that forms a world and its inhabitants. Cyber Sans, from Cybercore, is an up-to-date vaccine that is put to the task of eliminating these dangerous viruses before too much damage is done.

I do have a tumblr but I'm really bad at keeping up updated. xD;
I was encouraged to make a tumblr for my AUs, but I'm just so bad at going there to check it. I hardly use it lol.

I do hope to make it active again, there's a lot of people on there that aren't even on DA. Maybe I'll get more of an interest in them there as I have here.

Oh lord this design is old too. xD
I updated Infected's design here  eeeeeven though it's in the form of an ask. <3;;;

Omg you're the one who made Demitale! *A* Your AU is so interested to me, I am loving the designs for it! With your interests in AUs being dark, Hallowtale might be another AU of mine you'd like as it is pretty dark as well. I also have another AU in the works though it's more mythical/mysterious than dark. But it does make me happy to know that a fave artist of mine likes my ideas and designs! ;w;

Awww, I'd love to see that if you ever so! ;A;

Yes, I have seen your AU about and I have read into it which I really do enjoy the idea of. <3 I'm sadly one of those people that watches from the shadows because I currently have SO MANY COMICS in my watch list right now I can't keep up. xD;;

I barely can juggle what I got but, making new AUs is just too fawking fun and I LOVE being creative so when a new idea comes up--I want to make designs for it. Specially the Skelebros, they are so much fun to draw! <3

Depends on one's idea of awesome? .w.

I'm also redrawing/redesigning them a bit to make them more not-just-recolors of the original Sans. Once I get a proper ref of them made and up--just like the rest of my AU characters. ;w;

So much to draw, so much to type. I have most of their stories planned out but just haven't typed them. I need help. xD

Ahhh DUALISM! I love it! Although he destroys worlds I kinda want him to have a happy ending somehow? Maybe because it seems impossible? I think the only happy endings for him would be for his core to be changed again to a good 'program' or for him to snap out of his grandeur-godly thinking (*glances slightly at Gaster, the self-proclaimed god*) and let himself be destroyed for the good of all the other Sanses and the universe. But that would be a tragedy! I admire his willpower to live, even if he destroys things.

I have acquired feels and I'm in love! May I draw fanart of your au?

XenomorphicDragon In reply to Kaimiiru [2016-02-22 22:52:07 +0000 UTC]

He tears apart different AU's binary coding to try and bring back his own world--mainly because since his world has come to its end and he was felt alive via a glitch, he no longer has any reason to be lazy anymore. This is it. There are no other chances after that. No more resets for his world--because it has ended. Given a second chance (even if it was by accident), he has discovered the power and abilities of the binary coding left behind and has made it his new goal to bring back the world he's lost.  How he got his unintentional second chance was due to CyberCore Sans missing the alert that an AU had ended and he was needed to recollect up the coding that made up that world's Sans to reuse it for another potential AU to be made. Thus, Virus!Sans was created.

There is/will be a lot of clashing between the two worlds--and it all started because CyberCore Sans was too lazy to read an alert. xD

Omg, that would amaze me to no end if fanart was made. ;A;
I rarely get fanart on anything I've made myself and it would make me so happy to see such a thing made. <3

I wonder if there's a point where the Virus world stabilizes and becomes it's own stable world despite consuming other timelines, or if it constantly needs to devour other timelines to exist? A Sans that isn't lazy, wow... Hehehe~

Alright, thanks! I hope you don't mind if I insert some of my headcanons!

XenomorphicDragon In reply to Kaimiiru [2016-02-23 05:27:29 +0000 UTC]

Well, the Virus world is just as big as all the other AU worlds, and with just Sans thus far remaking it with broken and/or stolen code from other AUs, it's a very slow process. If the Virus world lives that long, it could cause a lot of problems for all the other worlds due to the monsters living in that world would all be viruses.

Oh, what headcanons you have for it? :0 I'm curious.~

Optinal [2016-02-10 03:22:12 +0000 UTC]

Welp, I've met my match in terms of the universe basically being a computer and all of the different dimensions within it are just programs, each with an error handler to keep watch for glitches and viruses.
But
In my universe the dimensions are separated and only a certain psychopath can travel between them through use of an 'interdimensional jump code,' and error handlers can manually modify their dimension's- and their own- code through the dataspace computer, which exists within each dimension's dataspace, which exist at the core of each dimension. It isn't until an event I call "The Collapse" where the code keeping the dimensions separate starts to deteriorate, causing a massive inter-franchise crossover. Basically, each dimension houses a different franchise, however things like AU's and fanfictions exist in different realities, which are separate universes in their entirety. At the core of each universe is System 32, and at the core of the multiverse is 'The Source', which is basically the universe we exist in. Now, while travel between dimensions is theoretically possible before- and definitely after- The Collapse, travel between realities is utterly impossible, mainly as there'd most likely be another version of the traveler, which would cause data conflicts and then a crash. Also, each dimension is equip with a backup.exe in case a crash were to happen. However, the one in the Sonic dimension is corrupted, causing Sonic.exe, who can manually infect code in the main dimension with an "exe virus", which basically turns characters into their exe counterparts. Also, error handlers can actually lose their power over their dimension if the code that grants that power is deleted.
And another thing
In my version of Undertale (not necessarily an AU, more of an explanation), Gaster and the Annoying Dog were the original error handlers until a virus- Chara- came along seeking destruction. Gaster initially investigated Chara personally, but was accidentally locked out of UT's dataspace and stripped of nearly all of his powers. So, he became the Underground's head scientist and built The Core, which was his attempt to re-access the dataspace. However, he fell into the core before it was completed, nearly erasing himself from existence. Using his regained, but minimal, code altering powers, he created Frisk with power over the save/load feature to destroy Chara, then Sans with knowledge of the save/load to protect Frisk, then Papyrus as a stabilizer for Sans, all out of himself in hopes they could eventually do what he couldn't.

My god can I ramble.

the-duelmaster In reply to Optinal [2019-06-26 08:56:14 +0000 UTC]

Sonic.exe is refferencing an executable file that downloads a virus. Rather than the file itself be a virus. So if he is able to make them into their .exe counter part. Wouldnt it make sense if some of them were referencing executable files that download antivirus software or take measures to protect doftware. making them stronger against the corrupted characters. And to think that you ramble.

My, I never expected to get a book in a comment on this AU. xD;

I actually had to look into your gallery to really grab the topic that's being described here, but yeah, when it comes to a computer/program based world, things get really complicated cause of all those traits that goes with it. I have a lot of details about both my Virustale and CybderCore thought out but to put it in text without it looking unprofessional and/or not very clear is the hard part. Cause I'm not much of a story teller or a teacher. xD;

It's much easier for me to explain things when it's either in rp form or in a comic strip, cause an on-going story helps me phase myself when to talk about things or explain them in a proper way.

I could definitely see V!Sans playing Tetris XD Honestly, and I might be lame but, it's one of my favorite pass-time games ever! XD
Anyway, I can't believe how amazing Infected Sans and Virus!Sans look! This is probably one of your best pieces for your AU, or OC, character images I have seen to date! Well done~

I really enjoyed the background story, just as much as Virus!Sans to be honest. It is quite well thought out and very stable, for such a poor unstable character xD; Though, I think I am really drawn to this AU due to the fact that I am in the IT field and we deal with nothing but codes and viruses and infected computers all day long XD So I really can't help but fall in love with this lovely AU of yours!

Again, this was pure genius!!!

XenomorphicDragon In reply to Firamodor [2016-02-05 22:00:11 +0000 UTC]

And I plan to draw Virus!Sans more cause I'm actually enjoying doing so. ;w;
I may also draw out other Virus! characters as well cause I gotta show some progress V!Sans has made over a period of time. V!Papyrus would be the first on his list to remake, so that should be the second character to design.

I had the idea of Cybernetic designs as well, though I have no back story to it so if I do draw cybernetic designs for them, it'll just be for he fun of it. At least it'd give me some time to play around with high-tech looking outfits, glowy effects and wires. <3

I'm so happy! I'd say a bit more to that, but I have been keeping a close eye out for your AUs you have created for the Undertale cast. And I have to say that I'm enjoying every minute I see a new design in my inbox :3

And I'm glad that you have that attitude about it :3 I can't wait to see what other characters, Virus!Sans brings back with his coding abilities :3

Well I'm pretty sure that you'll have a backstory before too long. Once you have an idea you definitely keep building on it x3 So I'm sure before long you'll have the backstories needed to create the Cybernetic AU world. Also, I is jealous with your abilities of the wires and glowy effects! I must have your talents! XDD *kidding kidding* I'll just fave all the glowy pretty wires and stare for hours XDD

AUs are great, I'm actually glad Toby left it open for other 'timelines' to happen, and each time line can be completely different like another universe. I'd also like to try out a more Cybernetic AU of the cast, though I'd need an actual story for it before I just start making up designs. xD;
