Description Update: Here it is animated!

I'm still working on the UVs, but figured I'd post anyway. Really looking forward to texturing and animating those wings. Here it's like half-posed. The overall level of modeled detail is between the Heroes of the Storm Zergling and the SC2 portrait.
If you remember, one of the first few 3d models I uploaded here was also a Zergling, 2 years and 1 month ago, though it was a stab at the SC1 sprite design.

Hi! Tell me please where did you take the references of characters to create Starcraft models?

The units that appeared in the Wings of Liberty campaign cutscenes are all just in the map editor, so you can place them and change the camera angle to get a good look at those. I'm usually not trying to exactly copy the SC2 designs, but for the Zergling you can get screenshots likeΒ this ,Β great for knowing how thin the neck is or how wide the hips should be.Β

But I also built up a big folder of references over time while I was doing the StarCraft to Scale chart, with screenshots from behind the scenes videos (like this look at the cinematic Zergling zbrush sculpt for Heart of the Swarm) or images from artist's portfolios (like these High Templar concepts for the LotV intro), when I come across them. And for SC:Ghost and StarCraft 1 I've spent a long time finding good images from random sources. If there's any specific unit that you want reference for, let me know, and I'll probably have some good references to share!
