I love this! Also I see the same type of scales on the snout as in Daspletosaurus and Neovenator. Are these scales likely to have been present on the snouts of all big theropods?

I'm sorry to keep you waiting so long for an answer. First, it is not scales, but cracked keratin with mechanoreceptors. In other words, integument similar to crocodilian one, but with some differences, for example, in the distribution of mechanoreceptors. Unfortunately, during the drawing of the portrait of Daspletosaurus, which you may have in mind, I forgot about this important detail (shame on me! ), but otherwise, these sensors are just too small to draw well on that scale. And, yes, I believe it was a fairly common trait among theropods. You may be familiar with the paper describing facial nerves in the Neovenator. Similar feature was characteristic of Spinosaurus. Given that these three taxa belong to different groups, I am inclined to think that almost all theropods could have a facial skin, more or less keratinized. And, yes, that means no lips. In most cases. I am not sure about some theropod lines in this aspect.

Splendid Work - it is intriguing to compare this graceful specimen with the more rugged Tyrannosaurus, but Allosaurus makes an interesting study in its own right!
