Read the written portion here:

Working at the Superstar Daycare CH 2Chapter 2: The Ticket My golden ticket worked its magic at the lobby gates. Before I knew it I was having my first ever Fazbear Entertainment experience! I was happy that no one was there to see how dorky my grin was but it just felt good to smile after how tense I was earlier. I spent longer than I realized marveling at the centerpiece between the shops. A Freddy Fazbear glitzed out in gold. I never imagined an animatronic could look so passionate with a microphone. Although, with it being a statue there must have been some creative liberties used for it. I welcomed it, though. I was tempted to take out my sketchbook and start drawing it right then. But I knew I never did my best work in public spaces. So I settled for merely committing it to memory to use later. After wandering around the shops and deciding I didn't have the money to buy souvenirs, I headed up the stairs to the next floor. The escalators were either not working or not turned on yet so by the time I made it to the top I was reminded of how out of shape I was yet again. Perhaps it would be a good thing to use the stairs more often from now on. I looked around the photo booths and realized there were two floors to the gift shop. That is a lot of nick knacks for sale. I took another glance through the windows. I was drawn again to plushies of various sizes. The larger ones looked so cuddly and cute. Those big eyes with such detailed embroidery and the chubby bodies. I wondered if I would sink right through if I sat on one. I shook my head and tugged on the strap of my bag. No, no. Way too expensive, I reminded myself before moving on. Right now I needed to find out where I was going to work soon. Mr. Jones did say I would get a rundown on Monday, but since I was already here I figured it wouldn't hurt. A bright rainbow on the wall caught my eye. Upon closer inspection, I noticed it was the sign I was looking for. “Superstar Daycare” Yup that was it. My grip tightened when my nerves caught up to me again. The start of my new job. I hoped my coworkers would be better than the last ones. When I finally took my eyes off the sign I noticed that the set of large double doors were still closed. They must not be opened yet. It was still pretty early. But the faint sounds of excited chatter informed me that patrons were arriving now. Surely they must be open, right? Maybe everyone who came in had to open the doors? They didn't appear to be locked in any way. I prepared to push the door when- “OH! Sorry for the wait. I know I'm late!” The door opened for me with a girl on the other side. She had her hair hastily done over in two poofy pigtails that just barely fit through the loop of the apron she was in the middle of putting on. “School had me up late, you know. College struggles~” She tied the back of her uniform and looked around and behind me. I looked around as well. Was she not talking to me? But there was no one there. My eyes darted around wondering what was going on. “You don't have any kids?” She asked adjusting her hair to look more presentable. “No, I don't uh-” I cleared my throat, “I was just hired today and Mr. Jones told me I could look around, um...” I hastily took out the ticket from my bag. However, the girl didn't seem to notice before sighing in relief. “Thank GOODNESS! I thought you were a parent.” The girl nearly toppled over striking a dramatic pose. The freckles on her cheeks rose to meet her eyes as she smiled at me. I let out a couple of sympathetic chuckles. No one wants to be the one who opens the door to an impatient parent. Let alone the most nervous person in the building. “Y-yeah don't worry,” I gave an awkward smile as she propped the doors open, “No parents around yet.” The mismatched patterns and the bright colors of her outfit were fighting for my eyes' attention. I couldn't tell if it was a tasteful amount of chaos or not. But ultimately her loud, bubbly, voice was the most attention grabbing of them all. “So you just got hired? That's AWESOME! We love new faces around here~” She put a hand to the side of her face, “And we kind of NEED the help, too.” Her hair bounced as she giggled for a reason I knew too well. It is always nice to have more help when it comes to little ones. Being understaffed can be the most stressful part of any workday. My mind reminisced on the times I would have to take everyone inside because one had to go to the bathroom only to do it again a few minutes later. What a hassle! “My name is Mia! The kids call me Miss Mia.” She shook my hand with enthusiasm I didn't know someone could have this early in the morning. I could see why she fit in with childcare. With bright clothes and an attitude to match. The kids must love her. I on the other hand was a bit overwhelmed. But I tried to remain polite nonetheless. “I'm Miss Nae-nae, so uh, you can call me that... too.” I couldn't fathom why I said that with such a pause. Mia, however, didn't seem to notice. Her eyes were fixed on my midsection. Or at least I assumed so until I remembered I was still holding the ticket. I lifted my hand to get her eyes away from my body. Mia's eyes followed, sparkling with wonder. “Is that the 'All-in-One' pass?!” She exclaimed, her voice echoing through the hallway behind her. I felt my ears twitch back at the volume. I didn't expect someone with her small frame to have such bravado in her voice. “Uh, yes, it is. Mr. Jones gave it to me earlier. So I can look around.” Mia was practically jumping up and down at this point. Before I could finish explaining she grabbed my hands to lift the ticket up closer to her face. I nearly dropped it from shock. I was not used to people touching me this way. I was used to children holding my leg or hand and hugging me. That was it., “He just GAVE it to you?! I have been putting my name in the lottery bucket for months and never won once!” I could see my reflection in her beautiful, sparkling eyes, “You are so LUCKY!! Why would you be wasting it by going to your new job early? I would be going to town on those prize tickets! And killing it at Fazerblast!” Thinking back on how my interviewer spoke of this ticket, I couldn't help but feel sorry for Miss Mia. I didn't think anyone was supposed to win this, ever. But I decided that she didn't need her dreams crushed. “I-I just thought it would be nice to see where I'm working. I have all day to use my ticket,” I try to smile back but only felt silly, “But uh, maybe I can let you use it when you get off work? I don't think I'll last all day here anyway.” Her gasp of excitement could be heard a mile away. I flinched back but tried to maintain my smile. “ARE YOU SERIOUS!!? You'd do that! You are an ANGEL!” I resisted the urge to pull away, “I get off at noon so that gives us plenty of time to see the best spots!” “Us?” I didn't know you could share a ticket like this. Nor did I realize that I had just invited myself to a play date with my new coworker. “Of course US! It's your ticket. We could just take turns using it. It shouldn't be a problem, plus I would love to get to know you Nae-nae! Ah! Now I can't wait for my shift to be done! Bring on those kiddos!!” She jumped and twirled further into the hallway. I didn't know how long I could be around her energy before feeling the need to hide in a cocoon. Not that she seemed like a bad person. Far from it in fact. Miss Mia had been very welcoming to me. Her kind of over the top joy would quickly overstimulate me, though. I just had to hope I could hold out until the end. I didn't want to make my new coworker think I disliked her. After a quick breath, I followed her inside. The rhythmic taps of Mia's steps echoed up the walls. Her bouncy hair moved to the music in her head. I got the feeling that she was very close to busting out into song. Before I knew it my pace was matching her rhythm. It felt nice to take such broad, exaggerated steps. But when I noticed how loud it was I slowed down. Don't need to sound bigger than I am. We walked past yet another inspiring centerpiece. A large fountain. The sparkling water reflecting the starlights on the ceiling was enough to make me pause for a moment. The bubbling of the fountain was soothing. I was glad that no one else was polluting the noise. If I were to have the opening shift I would enjoy having this spot to myself every day. After taking another mental note for my sketchbook I continued after Mia. But it wasn't long before I found yet another site to add to my 'draw later' list. A pair of golden statues like the one near the shops. Different characters this time. Characters that I had not seen before. They weren't from the old cartoon that was for sure. I figured they must have been made for the Pizzaplex. The two figures were in very energetic and playful poses. A small laugh almost escaped my mouth. I could just tell that some kids would break down crying seeing them. They resembled clowns just enough to have that effect. But upon reflection, it would be more apt to call them jesters. Poofy pants, frills, and a celestial theme; one resembling the sun and the other the moon. I liked it. There was an entrance labeled 'Slide into the Fun' nearby. “Oh, that's cute,” I remarked to myself. Those slides always looked so fun. But I was too big to use them now. Past the opening, I could see the play area. It was enormous! “The kids LOVE that slide,” Mia laughs, “landing in the ball pit is always the best part! But our entrance is down this way.” My new coworker pulled the card hanging from her apron up to a locked gate. After a beep, the gate opened. She slid her hand along the railway of the stairs and I wasn't far behind. I kept my eyes on the play structures as we descended; analyzing all the nooks and crannies that a child may hide in. “Is it hard to keep track of everyone? With all of that?” I asked. “Oh not at all! Sun does that for us,” Mia used the last pole of the railing to spin herself around to face me. She looked small enough to be confused for a child from my height on the stairs. “They have sensors all over the play place and a connection to the check-in data. Fancy stuff, right!” “Woah, that's cool,” I couldn't help but think about what Mr. Jones had said earlier that day. The sole reason I got this job was because the daycare animatronic was 'on the fritz'. Perhaps the sensors are not working during nap time? That would make sense. It is very important to know who is there at all times. I would have to try my best to learn names as soon as possible. “Are you ready?” Mia approached a set of whimsical castle doors. I assumed that this was the entrance. After I nodded my head Mia pulled the doors. She had to lean her whole body weight into it before it budged. I had to shake away the thought of a child getting their fingers stuck. Don't need that vision in my head. Once the doors got started they suddenly swung open. I was hit with a gust of air. The smell of cleaning products almost made my eyes water. At least I knew this place was recently cleaned. Other play structures like this always smelt like mold and felt like tar. But I had to admit that it smelled a little too strong. Like “we gotta drown out this puke smell” strong. Although, it could have been due to the amount of cleaning there had to be done. I didn't want to imagine how much it would cost to buy that much sanitizer. After I blinked the moister out of my eyes I was able to take a closer look at the place. Looking up to the top made me feel like I was a child. I could only imagine how wondrous this looks to the kids who come here. Cutouts of puffy white clouds and the rock band members were plastered on every surface. There was no way you could forget that you were in a Freddy Fazbear play place. It felt like even the padded flooring was smiling at me. “Wow...” My eyes were in a wonderland of stimulation. Everywhere I looked there was something that piqued my interest. I would have been staring at each spot for minutes on end if it wasn't considered strange to do so. “I know, right? It's AMAZING!” Miss Mia spun around in her rainbow socks, “Oh, by the way, everyone has to take off their shoes. You can put them there.” She waved a hand at a shoe rack next to the computer desk. I nodded and began sliding my shoes off. It always felt nicer with just socks anyway. And now I had permission to do it at work. It was a wonderful feeling. I hadn't even finished putting the shoes in a cubby before yet another energetic personality made itself known. “HELLO! HELLO! Miss Mia! There are no children signed in yet.” I heard a sigh of relief from Mia before I looked up. I almost fell over trying to look high enough to see the whole figure. Before I could commit to it the robot leaned down with a melody of clicks and clacks. “Who is this new friend?” I froze. The face of this animatronic was right in front of mine. A gleeful grin with round cheeks that pushed up the eyes that somehow still seemed too big. It was the sun statue in the flesh. Or in the metal to be more accurate. The triangular flaps that were meant to resemble sun rays pulsed in and out of sight. The noise of clockwork was accompanied by a buzzing sound when the eyes projected a beam of light. I knew what this was. The robot was trying to scan my face. One of them at the entrance had done the same thing when I first came this morning. I somehow managed to become even more still than I was before. “This is Miss Nae-nae. She just got hired today!” Mia introduced me during my panic. The scan continued up and down my face a few times before concluding with a beep. Being scanned was like having a picture taken only ten times worse. Having my face so thoroughly examined only made me more self-conscious. And I already had too much of it. The animatronic seemed satisfied, though. It let the rays of light extend out fully and leaped up straight. “OH! I LOVE new friends! Welcome welcome, Miss Nae-Nae!” I couldn't decide if the robot's voice was happily charming or gratingly obnoxious. Either way, I would have to get used to it. I would be hearing it a lot, after all. I was, however, very impressed by how fluid its movements were. The arms and legs moved so seamlessly that you could've convinced me that they were made of rubber. And the eyes. They were mesmerizing. More than just a picture of eyes painted on the face. They were projectors. The image on them changed to match what was being said. It gave my eyes someplace to analyze without realizing I was looking at a face. “Uh- um...” I couldn't think of what to say at first, “thank you. uh-” “This is Sun, the kids call him Mr. Sun.” “THAT'S ME!” Sun interrupted Mia's introduction. The bells at his hands and feet jingled softly despite the enthusiastic movements. “That's right big guy,” Miss Mia elbowed Sun's leg, “How about now? Any kids yet?” Sun's eyes went blank for a moment before responding, “No.” “Oh, good!” She turned to me with an apologetic smile, “Sorry to just leave you like this, but I REALLY need to get stuff ready for the morning activities. Mr. Sun here can show you around if you want. No one knows the place better than him. We're still good for this afternoon, right? So excited~” “Okay,” was all I managed to say before Mia galloped away. Her giggles could still be heard even after she left. I would have to save worrying about that play date later. I had to figure out how to talk to a robot first.
