Though I'm not a hundred percent satisfied with this render. The foreground snow field looks something odd, I think I had to make it better, but I was too impatient and I wanted to finish the image tonight. What do you think?

The foreground snow field looks something odd, I think I had to make it better,
As i tried to say back there .. throw it a ecosystem With snow rocks some rock paths embedded in snow small bushes and different trees of all kinds ... Some paths and poles in the snow etc etc ...
But let me effort a little more for you .... Here some References of what im thinking :

Even flat fields of snow again have squared paths... agglomerates of houses with snow .. mountains in background are made of giant boulders modeled rocks .. not just height maps ...

To reach such high place are always roads ... lots of roads and we must feel the organic nature of them ...

Paths are what make us travel trough a landscape as if we were there .. mountains are never just made of snow ..

Houses like this are just one part of the landscape ecosystem .. and its cool when the viewer is trow into the bushes in the foreground .. embedding them as part of the lush nature ...

Again mountains are never made just of heightmaps ... they should have all types of bolder rocks covered in snow in it ...

Walk paths from the foreground to the background reveal identity and makes us feel there ... again a house is never alone.. trees and houses are rich ecosystems ...

And overall we must feel we are there ... so we must position ground at 2 meters behind the camera ... going from foreground to back ... otherwise the shot looks like we are flying ... and doesn't help much the viewer feeling there ...

And i guess i could go with this all night ... but it took me actually 53 minuts ... just to search for and study this references ... But i guess this study can help you in ... all every next artworks ..
Never forget to after any render is finished .. go to flickr do some searchs .. and compare with your render ... and i know ... you will then take more 2 weeks working
Also a 3D Scene is never just 1 Artwork ... You can do countless artworks from 1 3d scene, taking many shots many angles ... and even do sequences .... as if one is doing a Graphic Novel and telling a story ...
Anyway i know im pushing too further the Hobbyist boundaries here and analyzing it on a Cinematic Perspective as a Professional studio director ...
But in this live we will never reach professionalism, if we don't dare to think as the highest professionals in the field do ... and the highest professionals all they do extensive photography research comparing it eachother to whatever they do before in middle and after ...
And again im talking here about "Professional Studio" Artwork Direction and in a professional art studio is never just one person doing or thinking in things alone ...
True professional art Means Collaboration of more than one artist and more than one mind more than one vision always ...
I would love to Take you out of the Hobbyist Status and make you a professional - Also my dream would be sure building a professional 3d Art studio with you ... that's why im saying all this things and trying to Push you ... You will forgive me my always too biggest intentions ...
