Description
My fourth attempt at drawing Genesect. I feel confident about this one - looking back on the others, they feel a bit odd.Please don't use any of my artwork, including this piece, without my permission. Thank you.

Genesect was so close on becoming the most powerful pokemon until N canceled the operation.I think the most powerful pokemon is Arceus.What do you guys think?

Serebii apparently updated with all the english names like PokeBeach did a while ago. A little known secret he had is that he updated with the english names of Darmanitan's Daruma mode, Meloetta's two formes, and the final 3 event legendaries' names. Turns out Daruma mode is now Zen Mode, Meloetta's Voice and Step formes are now Aria and Pirouetta formes respectively, and the event's names are Keldeo, Meloetta, and GenEsect. I was really hoping for Genosect at first, but it turns out it's Genesect now. Regardless of the name though, both puns work for it (Genocide/Genome+Insect and Gene/Genesis+Insect).

Personally, I like more the US names than the JP names with a few exeptions, like the starters and evos and some random Pokemon (Oshawott? Throh? SAWK!? THOSE ARE JUST HORRIBLE!!)
Genocide and Genesis would both work on Genosect, since Pokemon Black's PokeDex entry states that "Genosect lived almost 300 million years ago was was the fiercest of all predators. It was resurected by Team Plasma and roboticized afterwards."
(this means Genosect was on the top of the food chain in Prehistoric ages and had no predators at all, which 'Genocide' would fit in. Also, the fact it was one of the first Pokemon to have appeared other that the Gods of Pokemon like Arceus or Dialga also fit the word 'Genesis' which means 'the beggining of all' in Ancient Greek. The cannon on its back is a proof that Team Plasma took the fossil and roboticized Genosect, now half-Bug, half-Metal type thanks to modern technology) So yeah, both 'Genocide' and 'Genesis' could work on Genosect/Genesect...

It fills me with so much dread what 'poor misunderstood' angle they'll play with a pokemon like this.
It's like they're pathologically afraid of any pokemon being awful other than Meowth.

As far as Nintendo is concerned, it isn't a real one... yet. Every gen, they act as though the unrevealed event Pokemon don't exist until it's time to start advertising the movie they star in. It was the same with Darkrai, Shaymin, and Arceus last gen.

This is definitely better than the past three. The darker shades of purples make him all the more intimidating, and he continues to look as awesome as ever.

Much like what was the case with Arceus, I always seem to draw the last hidden Legendary of a Generation multiple times. Mostly to try to get as close as possible to how Sugimori ends up drawing it, but also because I find their sense of mystery very inspiring. It'll be years before we get official art for Genosect, so I love drawing it and seeing how close I was when the official art is finally released.

this was already the official art before it was posted.
the only difference is the yellow chip. this pokemon has four element chips that can be used with it. yellow is one of them its even on the pokemon wiki and i believe serebi.net too.

look guy, i'm not gettin in a fight with you over whats been secretly released (that means Leaked) on the web like everyday for the past forever i know what i've seen and so do allot of other people too. besides i never said seeing this art was a bad thing i think it's pretty freaking good and right on the money.

I'm not trying to get into fight either, I'm just saying that what you saw was probably not the official art, Genosect will not be released for a year or two :/ but the picture on Pokemon.wikia is this guys ( )just like their Kyurem art belongs to Pokedex-Himori, and I'm sure alot of people will agree with me that there is no official Genosect Sugimori art. but yeah, this guys pic is amazing, we can both agree on that
