Description
If you've seen my videos lately you'll probably know that I really like the game Dust: An Elysian Tail. And at university I had an assignment to model a fictional character and a prop, so after choosing and creating these two in Maya I figured I'd texture and rig them for Source Filmmaker; pictured is the end result. This is the first time I've done proper models so there's much room for improvement, but I'm generally happy with how they turned out. That said, constructive criticism would be much appreciated. Info dump:
Ahrah has exactly 3000 tris, baked ambient occlusion, phong shading/masking, phong exponent and normal maps and self-illuminated symbols on the blade. Fidget has 7310 tris, a custom lightwarp and jiggleboned ears. She does not yet have movable eyes or fingers, facial flexes or fully foldable wings and the elbow deformation isn't great, but I plan to add/fix these in future versions. I'm not sure yet whether I'll model Dust himself though.

Hello! Great work on the models!
May I have your permission to convert and use them in Source2?
And is there still hope for facial expressions for the models?
Best regards!

Sure, use them anywhere as long as you give credit. c:
I'm not so sure about adding facial expressions though. I've been thinking about it but it's very very low on my priority list right now.
(Sorry about the late reply, btw. :U)

Hello again!
I've returned to ask for permission to EDIT and use the Fidget model.
Her lack of facial expression is killing me, and hopefully, the alternative I have in mind would be enough.
Nothing big, just silenc- I mean, erasing her mouth. (Not asking you to do it in case I wasn't clear enough )
Best regards!

Thanks!
I though about adding facial expressions as a texture by giving the model a set of textures where each has a different "frame" of an expression(Inefficient, but the best I could do), but then I noticed the mouth is bend inside and is part of the model, so I dropped the idea.
(No worries c

Is there a certain add on i would need to open this in blender?

Blender might be able to use this format by default, and if not then hopefully there's a plugin:
www.mediafire.com/download/657…
Failing that, you might have to look into Source model decompilers to use on the files linked in the description.

Yes that works! Thank you so much =3 I appreciate it ^^.
Ahh though sorry to be a nag, but does it have the texture too? x3
I just love this model and wanted to play with it, its amazingly done .
EDIT 2: Nevermind found a program that converts to png from the valve textures.
Thanks for the help D.

I take it you mean lack of one? I wanted to keep the style similar to the in-game Fidget, and she didn't have detailed fur either.

problem in 3D - if you will not show fur as texture, it will look like plastic. Or you need cell shade technology.
A little fur will good. It will give to Fidget more realistic and cute look.

I'm sort of using cell-shading already. There's a lightwarp applied which gives a similar look to TF2's characters, and I modified it to better suit Dust: AET's art style.

I understand where is problem!
Make a little blur in transition of fur colours. This will give better look to Fidget, because on your moder borders of fur colours too sharp. If you'll look on Fidget's in-game portraits, she don't have border lines between fur colours.

I mean, not black outlines, but mine doesn't have those either.

Photoillusion. Just try make it.
Try different ways to make her looks less plastic.
Also, why I said about textures. Look at Sonic He got textures, what visible only by strong zoom. His "fur" is not smoth, cause it have light texture, what gives non-plastic look to his needles.

Fidget won't be posable with the physgun so you'll probably need the poser tool (or whatever it's called). I'm not entirely sure how to upload stuff to the GMod workshop but I'll have a look tomorrow.

What you need to upload stuff to Gmod is the Workshop Publisher. Here's the Link. wiki.garrysmod.com/page/Worksh…
Also, Where can I find this pose tool?

It was the Ragdoll Mover, but I tried it and it doesn't work anyway. I guess Fidget won't be posable yet. Here's the link anyway: steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles…
